My computer is a few years old and Age of Empires will not run on it, anyone know if Cossacks will run on a newer computer?
Thanks,
Owen

GOG releases are generally fixed to run on all the operating systems listed on the gamecard and should generally run fine on modern hardware. I played GOG's Cossacks release earlier this year on a modern system running Windows 7 64 bit and it worked perfectly fine for me.

In some cases problems may still occur an specific configurations but they are usually solvable in one way or another. For example if Cossacks won't launch at all this patch should help. If a game won't work you can usually count on the community or support and there's always a money back guarantee if game won't work at all.

Have you tried sites like the PC Gaming Wiki? They have specs on system requirements and other info on various games.

The way I read it he tries to run a (relatively) old game on a (relatively) new OS. If that's really the case, my answer would be "Yes, but some tweaking might be necessary".
Seems AoE is not compatible with Windows 7

AoE runs fine on windows 7. Only problems I have had with my copies are the colour palette is a bit borked. Setting my desktop to 16 bit before loading solves that problem.

It does generally work just fine on Windows 7 (most people only experience corrupt colors but there are various ways to solve that problem). If you described your problem in more detail people could surely help you with it.

it's usually just an easy fix for this game. shouldn't be hard to sort the issue.

So Mailman... tell us again... where does it itch?!
