Hey everyone, Im new here and I just dl'd Baldurs gate 2.

I tried downloading the game through my account games page, and all three links says files are corrupted after I Download them.

Is there something I must do in order to install the files correctly?

Have you used the GOG downloader ?

dont believe I have. I clicked the game on my games shelf.

Then it had links for 3 parts.

so I dl'd each link separately.

Each one said corrupt after 'scanning' file.

How do you know all 3 links fail to download? You need to download all 3 (one .exe and 2 .bin files), then run the exe, which will verify all three files, and it will either tell you that it passes, or that it fails.
The downloader should help reduce the number of corrupt downloads, and you can also use the gogwiki to see what hashes the files should have, and verify them yourself.

They didnt fail to download. It said that they were corrupt after I downloaded them.

I used GOG installer and after I click on installer. 2.3 gb, it takes me to a page that says this.

"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (gogdownloader) isn't associated with any program.





You might need to install other software to open this address."

The hashes are on the right side of the page.

Make sure you install the downloader first, and also reset the gogdownloader:// protocol on firefox. I think the sticky here should have more information on how to do that.
Also, I assume you are using firefox 13.0.1 (current latest), which has SPDY protocol enabled by default, which I think messes up with gog's downloads. Try disabling it and see if the files also come up as corrupt.

Well I was not aware you needed to get installer.

I am downloading now through GOG installer.

We'll see how it works after this and I may not even have to do that other stuff.

Also, is it necesarry I play Baldurs Gate the first before I play the second one??

Its not necessary, but its recommended so you are already aquainted with your story, and that of some of the characters.
