the_bruce: man... I photoshopped my ass of creating this ad, but could'nt come up with a good catchphrase like superhobo did...Still a fun contest! congrats to the winners!
It looks really well done.

Also, should I be worried of my disappointment in discovering your wording was not intented literally?

LOL That comment totally cracked me up... :)

Whitecroc: Oh, you also keep PST alone at the top of the shelf? But what are Fallout 1 and 2 doing at the near-bottom?
PST on top in completely intentional, as it is the top rated game here on GoG. The composition of the other games is totally random. But you are right, that doesn't excuse FO1 and 2 being at the bottom ;)
also this is not my bookshelf, sadly

Tarhiel: To dasjoe: I also would like to know - how did you find out? How did you crack the code?
Hello, thank you :)

The cryptogram was explained pretty well already, but I'll paste what I wrote in the email:

Hi GOG team,

the text was encrypted by playfair (using "charles" as the keyword) and
the resulting ciphertext got rot13'd.

It actually was quite tricky to find that out. The J (not occuring in
playfair output) gave the ROT13 away.

First apply rot13, the ciphertext becomes:
NS VT OL LK EP CZ DO SP DP CS MZ PO CD CG DR HC GC DC
HP AZ HF TG GV GF EP CZ DO SP DP SP GI EP VQ GF CT LM GC DC
FG HL WT OY KH UH RX BL MH RB YB EP GD CT QY PR MH OD VB KL
MF PR SB UC WG GI VK DO DP HM AG ZD TC KR MZ KN BC GI

VO QO VY LF SB RL BC AZ HN GI QV TE NZ IZ
SC PQ DV PO EU ZU MY SP BH GF GK TV BK CF UG
GE UG MC RQ DP TV PO EP CZ DC EU DR PO RL DO CS EQ KD
CD GD KD DC BS MF UP EV MU SB QR OM VO ET OR TG

Then, using digram frequency analysis, I found out CD (or DC) would map
to RE (or ER, resp.). Last line thus becomes:
re GD KD er BS MF UP EV MU SB QR OM VO ET OR TG

which in turn became "re me mb er…".
DO and OD were the next most common reversed digram, which I then tried
to map to various common digrams.

After reading about playfair, trying to figure out how to construct the
key matrix and doing some more stuff I caved in and fed the text into a
playfair decoder, which gave me:
NS VT OL LK EP CZ DO SP DP CS MZ PO CD CG DR HC GC DC
if yo uc an so lv et hi st he ny ou re ve ry cl ev er
HP AZ HF TG GV GF EP CZ DO SP DP SP GI EP VQ GF CT LM GC DC

So, the deciphered text is:

if you can solve this then youre very clever
will someone solve this thing sooner or never
encrypt via playfair add some rot thirteen and the solving gets tricky
for many
i mean gog puzzles are all in good fun
we hope you found this an enjoyable one
congrats to you solver for you are the bomb
remember send to contest at gog dot com

Thank you guys for the great puzzle!
Fun fact: I work as a part-time teacher, we just had some basic symmetric cryptography (not Playfair, though) :)
Wow, the advertisements are very good - I think that participants done wonderfull job! Congrats to all winners.

Cool :P You, sir, are clever, because I wouldn´t find it out. I lack endurance in solving puzzles, plus I would got mislead after the first deciphering, thinking I´ve done something wrong.
