Hi,

I apologize if these questions have already been answered but I have looked. I'll be game specicific for now to make what I'm trying to ask easier.

Abe's Odyssey
I have a 23' monitor, is there any way to adjust the graphic settings i.e. fullscreen, filters etc as I am not sure what runs this game as it doesn't seem to be dosbox or scumm?

ScummVM Games
I am having trouble bringing up the menu while playing for Scumm. I thought it was alt-f5 but that doesn't seem to work

DOSBOX
Same question as above

Basically I am looking for some helpful tech info on how to access settings etc. I have been to the ScummVM site and checked there help, but all I seem to find is stuff about changing command lines etc. I am not a computer guru, I just want a easy way to access settings and change.

Also how does a person save while playing these games. Is it already setup or do I have to go and set save paths etc like in scumm.

Thanks
JP

Abe's Odissey. If I remember well, this game runs at 640x480 with a 4:3 ratio. Depending on your hardware, this may cause problems ( if your monitor doesn't support 640x480). The only solution seems to run it in windowed mode For this, you may need a specific software likeDXWnd

SCUMMVM alt f5 is the shortcut to the original scumm menu. It may allow you to save / load, nothing more I suspect. Try F5 or ctrl-F5 to get the game menu or the scummvm menu. If this doesn't work, you have to force your options through the "edit game" option of the ScummVm launcher.

Dosbox You can of course play with the dowbox.conf file : Dosbox.conf, but you may want to consider D-fend

I know its a typo but....

O.O a 23' [foot] monitor?! Wow! How much did that cost ya?! ;-) [yes, again, I know its a typo and the OP likely meant 23" [inches] ]

LOL!! Yeah, I wish I had a 23' foot monitor.
It would be great if the guys at GOG could put together a .pdf document with all this info i.e

If the game runs DOSBOX then do the following for settings etc.....

If ScummVM then....

I did find out that I didn't need to do anything with Abes's Odyssey for saving, so that seem to work already, not sure if this applies to all games though.

I do want to however congratualte the GOG team about the website and say that it is an absolute pleasure to use this website, download etc.

At 96ppi, what resolution does that give? Keeping in mind that ppi/dpi is measured horizontally or vertically (with a "square" pixel density it doesn't matter), while screen sizes are measured diagonally.

Hmm... <mathmode on>

1 foot = 12inches
Assuming the screen, like most nowadays, has a width/height ratio of 16:9.

<invoke WolframAlpha>
w^2+(w*9/16)^2=(23*12)^2
w≈240,5 inches≈23093px
h≈240,5*9/16≈135,3 inches≈12990px

A 23093x12990 screen? That'd be nice, now to build an array of graphics cards to drive it.

But then, it's not "HD" (1280x720), so it'd obviously be really crappy.
