Do not remove them, Removing something always ends up in regret. I learned the hard way, dont own any of my classic games anymore

When you click on any game on your account (both the shelf or the list) there is an option to hide the game. Hidden games won't show up on your list/shelf, but you will be able to un-hide them, by clicking "Hidden games" at the bottom of the list.

Thank you! This function will probably help some people who want to differentiate between games they still want to play and games they probably not want to play anymore.

Use the list view instead of shelf view, and sort alpha. Easy to overlook the ones you don't want, and they don't use much room that way.
I don't get "shelf view" that so many people are gaga over.
But yeah, the hide feature's already there and works perfectly.
