michaelleung: ANOTHER Fallout promo? If this keeps going, I have a feeling you're using the money you guys keep making to fund secret operations... are you a CIA front by any chance?

Weclock: maybe this is hot off the heels of rumors that interplay doesn't have any money for their new mmo and bethesda is suing the pants off of them.

Suing them for licenses they own? And winning? Doubt it.

Just a heads-up that the first bit of content for this week's Fallout Week festivities has also gone up. Check out David Craddock's retrospective of Fallout 1 with commentary from Tim Cain and Chris Taylor!

By the way, it's THAT Chris Taylor, not THAT Chris Taylor.
It's not that simple. Bethesda by all indications bought the Fallout IP completely and then sold the rights back to Interpay for them to make an MMO, which they had to then start production on within a certain time period. That period is now up, and Interplay seem no nearer to creating the MMO than they were 2 years ago. Ultimately, if anything, Interplay have failed to keep their side of the agreement and the rights should simply revert back to bethesda.
But like all things of this nature, I doubt we're getting all the details.

All I know is that Bethesda suing Interplay is basically trying to get blood from a stone. Interplay has no money whatssoever.....

They should think about making some more money by releasing some more of their back catalog on GOG! God knows they have plenty of titles I'd buy.

no, interplay sold the rights to bethesda, but part of the deal was that interplay would keep the rights to an mmo, as long as they had the right amount of funding and were in full swing of development by april9th, and apparently they aren't, so they're basically breaking the contractual agreement with bethesda.

too damn right, people would be falling over themselves to hand over cash if something like PS: Torment or Icewind Dale or the Starfleet command games came to GOG.

they may not have rights to those anymore however, I could see D&D not wanting to work with interplay on reselling the titles for so cheap and with no DRM.

Personally, I'd love to have The Lost Vikings here ;-)

Wishbone: I'm guessing any extras for a game will be added to that game's download section. So that's a yes, I think.

Thanks, the extras are all there. :)
Holycrapsold.
You know, I've been around since September without buying any of the Fallout games.
I actually.
Have not.
Played any of them yet.
Ever.
