I wonder if games stated to be compatible with Windows 7 x64 do really work. I read in the About GOG page that the team has implemented a technology that assures such old games are compatible with Windows 7. And I did try a couple of the games offered for free and although they are very old, they worked very well. However, I wonder if this will be the case with other games too, especially games that I've tried installing from CD and had trouble installing/working on Windows 7 e.g. Temple of Elemental Evil, which crashes on exiting. Also Neverwinter Nights and Nox are said to have issues with this OS.

So are the versions on GOG any different? Is compatibility guaranteed?

Thanks.

I wouldn't call compatibility a guarantee. I'd ask in the forums about any games you're unsure about. Remember to state what graphics card you're using as, if anything is going to have compatibility issues, it's that.

A lot of games here are run through DOSbox. Those games won't have any problems.
no guarantee , but i tried atleast 30. all work fine.
NWN requires you to run in Admin mode, otherwise it works fine. I haven't tried ToEE yet (and don't own Nox), so I can't comment on those.
