I hope the quality of Cafepress' merchandise has gone up since the last time I bought from them. I have a shop there myself (for my gaming community), and of the 6 different items I've bought there, 4 were flawed in some way.
Also, people outside the US should be aware that customs fees may raise the end-price of your purchase considerably. From the Cafepress shipping information page:
"Items shipped internationally via economy shipping may incur customs duties and import tax. Please note that additional charges for customs clearance may be collected and are the responsibility of the recipient.
For Express shipping, duties and taxes are included in your checkout price."
I don't know about that last statement. I don't see any way they can legally make this claim. What I do know is that when I bought the 6 items I did from my own shop, I ended up paying about 60 percent more than the combined cost of the products themselves, in shipping and customs fees. I live in Denmark, and I don't know how much you pay in customs fees in other countries, but you might want to check it before buying anything from Cafepress, lest you get a nasty surprise.
I do think it's great that GOG has a merchandise store now, but for a European company, I think it's sad that they chose a vendor that only ships from the US.
