Fever_Discordia: Errr... I know this is the GOG forums and all but does anyone know what games are free on Steam that are single player, not MMO, aren't mods for something else and don't have micropayments? As there doesn't seem to be a way to search for one without the other!
So far I have:
Heroine's Quest: The Herald of Ragnarok
Cry of Fear
You Have to Win the Game

Sorry if this hijacks the thread - feel funny about starting a new thread on here about this though!
There is this but you still need to check each game though i guess some games you know, or assume like pinball that it's not mmo http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851573
Electro Man/ElectroBody
Heartlight

babark: Heh....all hail wikipedia, I guess.
Some gems from that list (which I didn't know about until now, so maybe you don't either):
Command & Conquer, Red Alert & Tiberian Sun, all the classic Cinemaware games, One Must Fall: 2097, Railroad Tycoon Deluxe and Skyroads.
The 'problem' for me with games like this is that I tend to forget about them if they're not tied to GOG or Steam.
So ideally, GOG should just repackage them and give them out as free games so I don't forget I can play them ;)

I guess the problem with that (at least in some cases,) is that while they're available for free, they're not available to freely redistribute?
The problem with the wiki list, for me, is it's never easy to find a direct link to just download the game.

I would much prefer a list, with a link next to it, to directly download it, then having to go through two, three or more links trying to find the damn game.

If they are on the wiki page, then they're not easy to find. Usually all I find is links to the website of the publisher/developer or something like that where more searching is required to find the game itself.

Would love to be corrected here.

Again, it's not my list feel free to edit it with handy download links.
Also be sure to reply to everyone that posted just a game title with no links at all.

Ooh Coil which is listed as a Demo but is in fact the full thing:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/31500/
Wouldn't have spotted that one!
Great list, but Area 51 is under the category "Games no longer freely distributed" but when you search for it you get more than a couple of hits where it states that it's still free ex. http://www.fileplanet.com/216672/210000/fileinfo/Area-51-(Free-Game)
Maybe there are more games that not necessarily fall under the given category
Am I the only one who has trouble messing with DOSbox to get some of these games to run? I'm a noob!
