Which CRPG on GOG do you think has the most inserting/fun combat systems. I think a lot of new CRPG have great graphics, animation and often have decent stories but their combat design varies from FPS style to "click it and kill it." What games on GOG would you say have complex and unique combat systems.

I always thought the Fallout 1 and two had an instering combat system that allowed for a lot of styles of play and options.
Sounds like you're a fan of turn-based combat. If so, I'd say check out temple of Elemental Evil (but only with the Circle of Eight mod installed). I'm playing it now - almost at the end - and it's been a lot of fun.
If you liked Fallouts combat, certainly give the Infinity Engine games a try:

Baldurs gate 1 and 2, fantastic games, legends really, great story, great combat.

Icewind Dale 1 and 2, less story, MOAR combat, fantastic stuff!

And of course, Temple of Elemental Evil.

All fantastic choices.

Neverwinter Nights for the 3D version of these types of games.

More D&D then you can shake a fist at!
I have not tried that one. One thing that interesting to me is a game with has a smaller amount of fighting but more interesting fighting. I often find games where you grind your way through hundreds of enemies dull after a while. I would prefer one with less fights but the fight you do get into last longer and are more challenging and are intricate to the plot. Not go into cave/dungeon/castle and kill 1000 goblins/rats/pixilated sprites and return for a reward.

another pet peeve of mine is games where you get a quest and the reward for the quest is significantly less than the loot you got from doing the quest in the first place, makes it a bit anticlimactic to me.

I liked the aurora/infinity engine games but I did find that the combat got a little repetiive if you did not have a mage character, but good games on the whole.

In TOEE, you will go into dungeons/caves/etc, and you will kill 100 goblins, rats, etc.....but the odds are quite good you will have a blast doing it. In spite of it being turn based (or perhaps because of it), there's quite a bit of intricacy to many of the battles.
I have to vote for Temple of Elemental Evil. Intricate, tactical, turn-based combat that makes excellent use of D&D rules.
Hmm...you might want to look at NWN. Lots of scripted events and big battles, a lot of strategy in battles, with decent quest rewards, as I recall. The community modules are more in line with what you're thinking of, and they add hundreds of hours of gameplay.

Uh...you know, it seems like I plug NWN all the time. I'm getting predictable. I'm going to have to mimic TheJoe's "BUY THE GUILD" tag and change mine to "BUY NWN".
My preference is Icewind Dale's combat, it's a ton of fun.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned Temple of Elemental Evil, I'll have to check that out, I wasn't aware of that game. :)

Gothic's combat is really something else - it's got a mix of Severance and Dynasty Warriors. It's not exactly intuitive, and there are some really annoying kinks like the targeting system, but otherwise it's fun.
