Both games set in the World of Aden up to 70% off

Thuderscape and Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall, two very different classic RPG titles sharing the original setting of the World of Aden, are available bundled on GOG.com with 70% discount. That's only $3.58 for both for the next 24 hours.

In 1995, that is 19 years ago, Strategic Simulations Inc. set out to create a whole new fantastic universe that would become a canvas, on which they would depict epic campaigns and heroic sagas. The legendary developer team decided to take the popular pulp-fantasy tropes, put them through a grinder, mix in some steampunk pizzazz for that special coppery aftertaste, and slap a catchy--and a tad pompous--name on their creation. Thus, the World of Aden came to existence. It never became as popular as some of the fantastic realms of eternal fame, and it only witnessed two heroic campaigns in the end, but it surely deserves its place in the role-play gaming hall of fame. Today, GOG.com invites you for a trip to this amazing forgotten land.

Thunderscape presents you with many time-proven RPG ideas that work together so well, that it's astounding that anyone would want to modify them. You get a party of six brave champions, a large gameworld to explore, lots of items to collect, stats to build, and enemies to slay. While roaming the world, the game progresses in real-time, switching to turn-based combat whenever you approach (or get ambushed by) an opponent. With everything that made dungeon crawlers so successful in the 1990 and some very distinctive steampunk-ish feel, this game is highly recommended to all cRPG fans looking for a challenge!

Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall is a RPG-ish action-adventure game set in the world of Aden, introduced by Thunderscape. This isn't a sequel though, but a completely stand-alone tale presented by different means. This time we get a top-down view, a single character, and more puzzle and combat-oriented gameplay. With the ability to morph into insect-like beasts to take on your enemies, an intriguing story, and enough in-game content to keep you busy for 40 hours, this classic title deserves to become a part of your collection of PC oldies.

Grab them both for only $3.58, today! You can also get just Thuderscape or Entomorph: Plague of the Darkfall with 60% off discount, that is for $2.39 each. If you already own one of them on GOG.com, you can get the other with the higher discount rate, that's for only $1.79. The Classic Gem Promo offer lasts until Tuesday, January 21, at 10:59AM GMT.
Oh no, I accidentally the whole Entomorph. :O
I actually meant to pick this up on the Winter Sale and then missed it with all the holiday madness going on. Glad to snag it now! :D
Grabbed Entomorph, might play it later after I beat Thunderscape (eventually).

Thunderscape is worth it for the soundtrack alone. I'm never sure if we're supposed to be battling or clubbing.
Oh, I might as well. Thunderscape caught my interest when it was first released here, but then I kept changing my mind. For less than 2 bucks, I can't say no.

Woah. I was not interested before, but that is a hilariously awesome soundtrack.

Are you aware that Entomorph has an awesome soundtrack too? Just listen...

So I've heard! I'm actually just now trying to get it to run it Wine. It launches fine, graphics and controls are just dandy, but I'm having a bit of a major audio fail so more experimentation is necessary before I can bask in the glory of the soundtrack. (Well, it does help that the soundtrack is included and I'm playing it on loop while I fiddle around. :D )
I just wish Entomorph could of been like Thunderscape, a FPP party-based RPG, rather than the Zelda/Diablo-like it was, I think the unique setting really deserved a more deep RPG experience. But to each their own I guess, but I think Thunderscape's character system in Entomorph setting would of been awesome.

The wording of the manuals for both games indicates that they intended to release a large number of games set in this universe, so it was logical to have a spin-off or two to keep a brand profitable and fresh until the next big entry is ready (many other RPG series did this).

I played a bit of Thunderscape, it's a really cool party based computer role playing game. Something about those types I just enjoy so much. I bought Entomorph and it seems pretty cool, I like the olde school type of gore in it. Entomorph doesn't play full screen though, that's a bit of a drag. I think if others can make patches to make olde Windows games play full screen, they should be able to with Entomorph too? That would be nice, but I don't know much about that. The music is really good in these two games too.

Crosmando: Whatever happened to the Strategy Guide for Thunderscape? I thought the new owners of the games were able to get a hard-copy to be scanned or something?
You can scan the strategy guide books legally? I remember posting someting about scanning my strategy guide for Thunderscape some time ago, I wonder if this message relates to me somehow! I never got any messages about it though, so maybe not. Pretty cool if strategy guides can be scanned legally for "new" owners, I didn't realize that! Weeee!
