The dark underbelly of La Belle Époque.
The Last Express, a remarkable murder-mystery adventure set on an long-distance train, featuring one of the deepest and most involving stories, and paying tribute to Art Nouveau, is available 60% off today on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours!
I always wanted to travel. Born in the States I managed to live on both coasts by the age of 16. I went to Mexico and Peru with my father when I was 17, and hunted caribou in Canada with my uncle when I was 18. I guess you could say that I was a lucky young man, privileged even, to be able to see all these wonderful new places, but my dream was always to visit the Old World, and marvel at the glory of its cities. I jumped on the first opportunity to go to Europe and soon enough I was in Paris, learning what joie de vivre meat in the glorious 1914. Oh, yes indeed, I was enjoying life in the most colorful, loud, and extravagant city. It all came to a sudden end when my good friend Tyler Whitney sent me a rather unsettling message. I was to join him on his long-distance express ride to Constantinople. When I boarded the train I did not know that my nonchalant way of looking at the world would change forever, as a dark mystery was about to unravel before me.
The Last Express is simply adventure gaming at its very finest. The story it tells is well-worthy of a movie adaptation, with a dark mystery, surprising plot-twists, and lifelike characters. There are multiple endings you can observe, and--frankly--in most cases the adventure doesn't end well. That's usually the case when it comes to political intrigues, conspiracy, and murder. But then again, it's also a story of romance in the middle of La Belle Époque. A truly multi-layered experience presented in unique Art Nouveau-like style, achieved by drawing the graphics over actual actors. If you're looking for a deep and unique point-and-click game, you should not miss this gem!
Get on the magnificent mystery train known as the The Last Express. The ticket is only $2.39 today, on GOG.com! The offer lasts until Tuesday, April 16, at 9:59AM GMT.
