In loving memory of Rube Goldberg, 1883-1970.

The Incredible Machine Mega Pack, a puzzle game full of crazy contraptions that challenges your creativity and provides hours of zany fun, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $2.79 for the next 24 hours!

It's very simple, see? When the ball falls on the scissors the scissors cut through string. When the string is cut, the balloon is released and floats up. When the balloon floats up it's popped by a pin. When the pin pops the balloon the cat is scared. When the cat is scared it jumps of the ledge. When the cat falls down it scares the mouse. When the mouse is scared it starts running and propels the wheel. When the wheel is propelled it produces electricity. When the electricity is produced, it powers up the conveyor belt. When the conveyor belt is powered up, it launches the ball through the hoop. Ta-dah! What do you mean: "what happens next"? Getting the ball through the hoop was our goal this entire time! Just throw the ball? Nonsense, my boy! What fun is there in throwing a ball through a hoop?

The Incredible Machine Mega Pack lets you construct any crazy contraption that comes to your mind to add some scientific spice into seemingly mundane tasks like lighting up candles, popping balloons, or trapping mice. The Mega Pack contains hundreds of challenging levels spread across Even More Incredible Machine, The Incredible Machine 3 (contains all levels from The Incredible Machine 2), Contraptions and Even More Contraptions. Did you ever wanted to somehow use cheese in the process of firing a cannon? Now you can!

Turn on your crazy scientist and get a lifetime supply of digital lab mice along with The Incredible Machine Mega Pack, for only $2.79 on GOG.com. The promo lasts until Tuesday, February 26, at 10:59AM GMT.

G-Doc: To clarify things: the reason the release isn't listed as Win7 compatible, is that TIM 3 refuses to run on that OS in most cases. It's a native early-windows game and as such it doesn't agree well with modern Microsoft systems.

The Even More Incredible Machine, Contraptions and Even More Contraptions are DOSBox-based, and will cause no problem on both Win7 and Win8.
Slight correction I think: Contraptions ("TIM4"?) and Even More Contraptions ("TIM5"?) are most certainly Windows games, as they are from 2000 and 2001 originally. :)

Nice to know though I am one of the lucky ones having no big issues with TIM3 in Win7/64bit. It is understandable GOG doesn't support it officially in Win7, if you know there may be issues on some systems with it.

TIM3 does have that old-skool "Windows 3.1"-feeling in it though, with the game running in a small window in the middle of the screen (ie. it doesn't run in full screen mode), the menus etc. So it seems like a 16bit Win3.x game... yet apparently it isn't, as it mostly runs fine on my Win7/64bit OS (save for some scratchy music here and there apparently EDIT: And now even the music is fine, not scratchy anymore. The game likes me.).

^what he said.

What I was going to say was:

The Even More Incredible Machine, Contraptions and Even More Contraptions are either DOSBox-based or more modern Windows titles, and will cause no problem on both Win7 and Win8.

I just rushed to click that "post" button without finishing my thought ;-)

Still - the only problem we know of is with TIM3 on some Win7/Win8 systems. Still--in such case we won't list the whole release as Win7/8 compatible.

Can someone tell me if Defender's Quest has been included in recent indie gem promo? (search function didn't work)

I'm planning to get it on sale. But if the game already been on sale recently, i assume it might take a while before it's on sale again. So i can plan my spending better, or spend it on something else.
I just bought it for the soundtrack. To what I remember there were some badass tunes included

Thank you for clarifying things. In that case I will buy it. Seems like a fair deal to me. I only pay the promo price and for that I (probably) only get three out of the four games... ;-)
Some updated contribution from me to whether the Incredible Machine games, especially TIM3, work with Win7/Win8 64bit:

Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (Win7/64bit): No problems. Sometimes in the beginning of the TIM3 sounds may be a bit scratchy, but that is only occasionally.

ASUS G75VW (Win7/64bit): No problems whatsoever, not even any scratchy sounds in TIM3.

ASUS G75VW (Win8/64bit): First it didn't look good, running TIM3 caused TIM3WIN.EXE to crash after the intro. And the intro didn't have any sounds, so it felt like some kind of audio incompatibility. Other TIM games in the bundle work fine.

But as soon as I set some compatibility settings for TIM3 ("Run as Administrator", and compatibility mode to Windows 98), it worked fine also in Win8. No crash, and audio works.

So yeah, I found a couple of hiccups with TIM3, but to me it seems the games are quite well compatible with new systems running 64bit Windows 7 or 8, even if GOG doesn't support them officially with this bundle.

Just out of interest, can you report whether TIM3 works for you too? As said, to me it seems to work fine on various (well, three...) 64bit Win7/Win8 systems, the ones where I tested it. Nor did I see many people complaining about the compatibility in the TIM subforum either.

Does TIM 3 have a different GUI and soundtrack as the missing TIM 2 or is it essentially the same game, just for Windows and with extra levels for TIM 3? In the former case I wonder what's the reason why it wasn't included ...

Works fine on the single one where I tested it (7x64) (my other Windows machine isn't running at all at the moment).
Not that I don't have my hands full with the SP but it would be nice to be able to share contraptions. I would guess there is a web page for that but I'd rather tinker with shit from the minds of the folks in here.

I ALMOST FORGOT!!!
This has been out for a while but those of you who haven't seen it PLEASE take the time to watch it. This whole thing was done in ONE TAKE and if you are a fan of Incredible Machine I can almost promise that you will shit when you watch this.

Also it's not too bad of a song.

Awesome video! You have singlehandedly convinced me to buy these games. And at this price, GOG has given me an offer I cannot refuse.

Works fine for me on my Win7 64bit machine (AMD FX-8120, 3.1 Ghz). Nice!
I have fond memories of me and my friend futzing around with various contraptions in either the first or second game of the series. Not sure why I've been hesitant about getting this one before, but at this price I'd be crazy not to snatch it.
...and with this promo, my credit card's vacation is officially over.

Two weeks. It must be my personal record since I started buying on GOG.

Some of us probably can't go more than a couple days without masturbating, so I consider your record an amazing achievement. :)
