A cyberpunk board game experience.

Chaos Overlords, a futuristic cyberpunk game presenting a gang war for power and prestige, with deep and diverse board game mechanics, is available 60% off on GOG.com. That's only $2.39 for the next 24 hours.

The overgrown civilization collapses around you under its own weight. Most people are too scared of what the City might now become. You are not most people. You are one of the few, who see all of the opportunities these dark, yet colorful, times of social unrest present. This is your time. This is your chance to reach for power and grab the City by its throat. With your cunning and charisma you're able to convince some of the street gangs to follow your lead. That's how you become a Chaos Overlord--one of the revered and feared few who see the method to the madness of the humanities grim future. The others, however, won't stand by idly as you cease control. You'll have to take it by force, one City block at a time. So, let's start by arming the Renegade Nuns with ultra-fast SMGs and hitting hard the Bicycle Messengers.

Chaos Overlords delivers complex and diverse board game-like gameplay in the flashy setting of cyberpunk dystopia, taken with a hefty pinch of humor. Every game you play can be different from the last one, as you can choose your own victory conditions, take control of different gangs (there's over 70 to chose from!), and equip different weapons and accessories developed in your research labs. The City, represented by a 8x8 grid, becomes a dynamic battlefield and conquering it will present you with many challenges and force you into some real multi-layered thinking. You know you deserve the power, make sure no one stands in your way!

There's chaos brewing in the city. Make the best of it and grab future by the throat. Get Chaos Overlords for only $2.39 on GOG.com! The promo lasts until Tuesday, August 20, at 9:59AM GMT.
Awesome, I was waiting for this to go on sale. First game I've bought in weeks.
Was a pretty cool game, quite short though, but the music, art and feel of the game were slick and cool
Bought it, thanks GOG!
Never heard of this. The screenshots don't appeal to me so I hope the gameplay will. The reviews make it sound like a game I'd like and looks aren't everything. ;)
A sure sign of getting older is if you consider buying a game and than
a little button tells you that you already owns said game....
(that or a very very large backlist of unplayed games)
I hope GOG don't get complaints about the gameplay window and the lack of OST playing in-game. I assume there wasn't anything they could do about the window since the game was "built" for 640 x 480, and isn't scalable like in DOSBox.

Wish I could help! I'm still running my computer that I bought in '04. Got student loans coming up, too.

Heh. I understand as bought mine in 2006 and althought I did some replacements - still If I would buy this LCD I mentioned - it would min tripple the price of my PC :-)
Seriously I don't feel any preassure on changing my PC or OS (still use XP) but I would gladly buy a quality new CRT monitor or at least LCD that has no blurr effect while moving images.

This is a seriously cool game, people. If you enjoy Cryptic Comet games (Armageddon Empires, Solium Infernum) or other minimalist boardgame-like strategy games, then this game is for you.

SI and AE are awesome games and it's unfathomable why they aren't on GOG already.

Also is the Top Sellers list on the front-page broken or something?
Got to spend some time with this last night. Had fun figuring out the game and reading the manual. This was definitely a great purchase for me. There's something to be said when figuring out how to play a game is fun and not laborious. Hopefully tonight I'll get to spend some more time playing. Reminds me of Syndicate a bit.

I suppose it's possible that Amnesia has been selling really well at $20 this whole time, but it does seem unlikely to me.
