As we informed you earlier this week, today we're hosting a live Q&A with CD Projekt RED Senior Producer Tomasz Gop about The Witcher 2. Because the link and the password for the stream has appeared around the web (that's shocking! :)) we decided to let you guys, our beloved community, know how to log in to the stream and join us during the Q&A. The stream begins today at 5:00 p.m. GMT and you can attend it by visiting this link and entering the password: goodoldgames. We'll be revealing some cool stuff and you'll be able to ask your own questions as well, so don't miss it out.

EDITED: 7.20 PM Warsaw time
We've finished the Live Q&A now, guys. Thanks a million for all of you who showed up and asked questions. If you missed your chance at the live version, you can still see the video (and all of the awesome stuff that we talk about in it) by going to http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-witcher-2-live-q-a and watching the recording.

Remember: if you heard us answer your question on Ustream, please be sure to drop us a note at users@gog.com with your user name, the question we answered, and what game title you'd like to receive from the GOG catalog. Please note this includes current games only, and can't be redeemed for The Witcher 2.
Nobody asked if the Collectors Edition has DRM? I'll be damned before I cancel my pre-order on that, I need to get that statue of Geralt on my table :D I also won't install any DRM crap on my computer, so please tell me, do I really need to buy two versions of the game?

And I realise that European and USA release are two different things, so I'm asking if eather of them contain DRM. I'm willing to go and pay the shipping from USA to here if I really have to..
The email I got announcing this event gave the times "March 18th" and "1700 GMT" (or 1200 "Noon" EST, my local time). This really doesn't help when the email is in my inbox at 0500 EST (or 1000 GMT) on the 19th.

Galimatias: I just got back home.
Lemme say that this Q&A session was intense !
The chat went bonkers when the Q&A started ;)
I was doing whatever I could to keep up with the questions but some of them were just being flooded by f.ex. someone asking will there be any dwarf action ingame :P
I apologize to anyone who feels left out by me not reading his awesome question but this was my first time and we all learned a great deal of things and will try to make it as perfect as possible when the next GOG broadcast will be aired (and it will be sooner than later ;)).

I'm gonna go through the emails on Monday when I'm in the office so that's when people will start getting their games ;)

Cheers and Imma sleep because this was a hard working week ! nn ;P
Thanks for your input, I really enjoyed the Q&A and the live answers

Can't wait to get my free game soon :)
Did anyone ask how the story would continue on from the "ending" of The Witcher? Like, which of the three "endings" were canon?

They've said that this will be decided by imports, if not importing a save you can answer a questionnaire or something to decide ....

• Save load could import swords, armor and some of the character’s attributes. The most important choices from TW1 will somehow affect TW2’s gameplay
• These, who don’t have save, but remember choices made in TW1 will be able to quick – define them
Hi everyone,
I just finished gifting the games the Q&A winners wanted but apparently some (like 3-4 people) forgot to mention they desired game or wanted Witcher 2 ;).
Please check your inbox for the gift certificate or for an email from me asking to specify the game ;)

Cheers and see you on the next GOG.com Live event !
Got what I wanted. Thanks!
UPDATE: The Q&A is on YouTube in 1080p ;)
TW2 gameplay bit was cut and replaced with the FRAPS recording of the Live Broadcast thus much better quality.

orcishgamer: Well, now that we know DA2 was crap The Witcher 2 is going to be the sole, decent RPG hitting the shelves this year (at least pre-Christmas, and I'm considering Hunted to be action-rpg). No pressure:)
Da2 was not crap and Skyrim will be the best RPG this year.

DA2 was "not crap" in the same sense Gothic 3 wasn't crap. They were both crap, especially given what they should have been. Maybe with a ton of fan patching and some mod tools DA2 will be way more value for the money as Gothic 3 is now. The User scores on Metacritic largely back this up, they alienated many of their core fans and failed to pick up the Halo crowd, it doesn't seem to be selling very well since launch, only pre-orders were high. We have 2 very high post count threads discussing DA2 in particular, so if you'd like to discuss further, go ahead and hop in.

I thought the Skyrim trailer looked pretty cool, but there's a lot of people with reservations about it. I think it's a little early given how little anyone knows about it to award it the best pre-Christmas RPG just yet. Besides I think it hits on Nov. 11th or something, so that's a ways off.

It's important that TW2 sells well, simply because of the fact that it's PC only. Even if it were PC/Mac only, it would be just as important. We've got to show other developers that the PC (and Mac) market is just as important as the console market, and, DRM aside, the PC versions of games deserve more in their ports than the simple conversions of control schemes. A prime example is Crysis 2, whose prequel was a PC only game.
