Magnitus: Yeah, it was definitely in my top 3 super heroe movies that played this summer, pehaps even top 2.

Trying to remember... there was Thor, X-Men First Class, Green Lantern, Captain America...

Ok, lets make it top 2 :P.

orcishgamer: Thor and Cap were good, Green Lantern was apparently trash and for some reason I didn't like Xmen: First Class.
My ordering would be: X-Men First Class, Captain America, Thor and then Green Lantern.

Overall, I think they were all at least decent, though I probably wouldn't buy Green Lantern as I don't feel a strong need to rewatch it (reminds me a bit of the first Hulk movie with Eric Bana).

X-Men first class, well, I've always been an X-Men fan and it was nice to see Charles out of a wheelchair with a full set of hair :P.

Also, I really liked what they did with Magnetor and how Michael Fassbender portrayed him.

"I agree with everything you said, but... you killed my mother" ><. The human condition right there.

And that right there was part of the reason I hated the movie. Which actor blew the other out of the water? I ended up rooting for Magneto because MacAvoy (McAvoy?) gave a fairly mediocre and unconvincing performance in the face of that. It threw off the dynamic quite a bit. I also disliked how most of the so called "first class" were portrayed as nearly useless.
I was thinking of buying all the Marvel movies coming this year, including Thor, Cap and X-men first class, which i liked a lot. Captain America, however, is not the sort of movie I'd watch several times, I think. While it stayed true to the character and had a decent plot and character development, I think the action was kind of lacking. I don't mean lacking as in there wasn't much, but as in it looked fake. A bit like watching the Power Rangers, where you know the good guy is going to win and the whole action sequence is scripted that way.

It's not the same as, say, Hulk 2 when he was fighting on campus against the Army. You know Hulk is going to win because the Army is straight out outmatched, but they put up a believable fight. On captain America, he's one guy against a whole army, where he could have been easily roasted and no, somehow he makes it alive and it feels like he's being aided to survive. I call that "noticing the director's hand", when something sort of implausible happens, just so the director can get what he wants on the screen.

Other than that, I enjoyed everything else about the movie, but it's usually the action and the feel of the movie what keeps me putting the DVD back in the player. I may end up buying it anyway if only to feel like i've got the whole collection. It's not terribly bad by any means, but it could've had some more realism on certain parts.

So, X-Men First Class, Thor, Captain America and I didn't watch Green lantern. It had rather poor reviews and I preferred to save it for a rental.

I was going to chime in and say that I kind of liked the Green Hornet, then I reread your post. O,o

So, Captain America is worth a watch.
Yeah it was good.
Marvel released three superhero movies this past summer, (X-Men: First Class, Thor, Captain America,) and they were all good.

DC released only one superhero movie this summer, Green Lantern, and it sucked.
