I often make sugar-coated almonds around christmas time, but they're a little finicky to get right.
Chocolate salty balls, perhaps?
I made mallowpuff puddings last year and will be doing so this year too. They look like this only with the finishing touches a bit more refined. Delicious and beautiful.

PhoenixWright: Does anyone make candy for the holidays? I'm looking for good recipes. I made a toffee topped with chocolate and almonds (sound familiar) last year, and it was really easy and turned out great, but unfortunately I didn't save the recipe... stupid, dumb, dumb, always save recipes that turn out well!
Al Gore's internet to the rescue! http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/Best-Toffee-Ever---Super-Easy/Detail.aspx

You could always try pulled taffy, which is fun to make with some friends: http://southernfood.about.com/od/candyrecipes/r/blbb290.htm
