It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I like buying from gog, but sadly I don't as much, because I don't check the website as often as steam's store.

Can you make an addon for firefox (and chrome) that basically alerts people to sales and allows quick access to the store. basically since GOG has no stand alone program, maybe they can turn my browser into a store?

Also, for the forums? =)

I take it you're a bit out of the loop and are unaware that GOG has a client called Galaxy, coming Soon™?

Are you aware of RSS? GOG has one, and all its announcements are sent there as well. There should be plenty of RSS readers for both firefox and chrome (and standalone), and the RSS link is to the bottom right of every page.
Oh, That galaxy sounds good. I hope to hear more on it.

I dont check my RSS feed, it would be easier to just use the site.
I receive notifications for weekly sales and special offers in my e-mail.
Same as cose_vecchie, works like a charm for me.
Most of the time I get in here from my e-mail, from the GOG newsletters. Make sure you subscribe to that and you will be announced of each offer right when it starts. ;)

https://www.gog.com/account/settings
Go into Subscriptions and check both options:
- Sent on occasion when we have something really big to announce.
- Promotions and hot deals

I was thinking of something similar to brief, that checks the feed in the background and notifies you if there's something new. See this image for an example, even if the number of unread items is too high.
