I notice all prices are in Dollars, is there an option to display in GBP (£) as I would like to know the exact price I am paying and not rely on my card company giving me a crappy exchange rate.

There is no option on the site but you can easily put the price in google to check it for instance:
5.99$ = 3.78 British pounds
9.99$ = 6.31 British pounds
11.99$ = 7.57 British pounds
19.99$ = 12.63 British pounds

Hope this helps you
Witcher 2 is the only game listed in Pounds Sterling.

Everything else is done via the current exchange rate. The $6 games come out at around £3.80 give or take a few pence and the $10 games are around £7.00.

Just bear in mind that your bank may charge you for the exchange and payment. Mine charges £1.50 per international transaction (Bank with Halifax) but Paypal are a lot cheaper at only about 10p.

The problem is my card company will have its own varying exchange rate and it will not be the same as what you can get off google or whatever.
I know the difference will be minimal but I would still prefer to see exactly what I am paying.

Strangely there was 1 game, witcher 2 which is priced in pounds - is that a mistake and the price is actually dollars or have they done the conversion for me as it is a new title?
Witcher 2 has something to do with local variation, it has to be priced per region, there is a thread about it somewhere on here.

Literally what you pay is the current exchange rate your bank offers.

For me Witcher 2 is in Euro so it is only for that game.
Everything else is in dollars so we can feel equal, not like on steam. The easiest way is to make a PayPal account like iainmet said.
Ok thanks for the help ;)

No.

When you put it that way it does seem a lot better, I never really thought of it like that.
I find I need to know the exchange rate of dollars to pounds quite regularly so I have a gadget on my Igoogle page for it.
You shouldn't need to look up the exchange rate, the site should be doing it for you.

It is not that easy. Of course, there some international exchange rates published daily but every user's local bank can add something to that - and that value can be very different.

No, they shouldn't. Their products sell in dollars, not in pounds, and they have no way of knowing how much it would cost you as every credit card charges a different exchange rate.

You're looking at it the wrong way anyway. If you shop almost anywhere else for digital downloads, including Steam, GamersGate etc. they charge in dollars for Americans and THE SAME but in pounds for Brits.

So, for instance, whereas an American would pay $10 for a game, a Brit would pay 10 pounds, which is the equivalent of around $15.54, so a Brit on Steam or GamersGate is being charged $5.54 more for the same game an American is getting for cheaper.

GOG charges the same price for everyone -- much more beneficial for the customer. And, in fact, on almost every site that gives you the price 'in pounds', they're actually making money on the exchange rate, so you, in effect, are being cheated.

You can search online for a converter webpage - xe.com is the one I use.
If you have the sidebar for Vistaster and Win7, there's a converter gadget as a default selection that uses the same.

Best way to avoid [excessive] card charges (and I hit a couple last year) is to create a PayPal account and link it to your bank account. Charges for that are maybe 10p per transaction, not £2 like on my debit card! Still affordable games, no rip-offs, except to the Bankers. But who cares about them..?

When you click the checkout here, then select "Pay by PayPal", it'll take you to PayPal site for you to check the charge, and confirm the transaction. Being British, it'll even take the funds from your account without having to wait a week to put them in the PayPal first. Very convenient!
