This looks quite interesting! Is it a roguelike as in no continues, or is there a strict time limit and so forth?

You can save the game whenever you want, it is like other roguelikes in that once you die, the game ends. Lately though the option to encounter your dead ex-players was programmed in. I have no idea what you can find there. Really though, I think its fine because the guy writing this is continually doing a good job of making each game very much unique.
Nearly every death I have had has been an interesting one, and you can get a good sense of accomplishment in a short amount of time with minimum repetition, the author must have that in mind because the game seems to be made for that.
Also if you manage to survive for very long, it makes things more tense or more fun to find out what is waiting for you. The Game IVAN is similar, and IronBand. But prospector has more Starflight elements and more that I wish were in Starflight.

I always plug Space Empires: Starfury when I can. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It captured the fun of trading and simplistic space combat, had a decent variety of ships, and I liked the fact that it was more personal, just controlling a single ship instead of a fleet.
While everyone else was playing Starflight, I was playing Overlord (aka Supremacy). It's not so much space exploration as it is "space domination". It's what Dave Perry and Nick Bruty were doing long before EWJ.
