I'd like to use a recording device that doesn't drain the battery while not in use. I hate it when I fully charge a device, leave it be for a few days, and then when I pick it back up the battery is completely drained.. with no use whatsoever. :( (bad examples include the PSP, Wii remote, and RCA 7" tablet)

So basically I need something affordable with good power management. It needs to be able to film both a monitor screen without too much quality loss (FRAPS drops my framerate to 1) as well as toy reviews. It also needs an adjustable stand. Which camera would you recommend?

I would prefer a few different suggestions. Something under $100 to start with, then maybe a $200+, $500+, etc..
I can't imagine being successful enough on youtube to afford a $500 camera (or even $200) but then again I have no idea how much revenue a beginning youtuber can make.
Your best bet for advice like this are places with a larger LP community. Seen things like this discussed on reddit and video capture forums.
