I got Driver SF going about an hour after the unlock on Steam. I didn't see any other players around to go into multiplayer with, which I'm attributing to people being at work/downloading/etc. But in any event, I'd like to put my details out there for those of you that'd like a friend to organize games around.

Steam Friends: Amadeus2XM10 (display name of Cy-Fox)
Driver SF/Uplay: Amadeus2XM10
Driver SF? Isn't that some UbiDRM that includes some kind of driving game feature?

Well, that might explain why you're not finding anyone to play with then. Everyone else is too busy enjoying the UbiDRM to pay any attention to its tacked on driving game component.
interesting game , will see how well it does after a month..........

liquidsnakehpks: wow , did you really buy this game despite knowing -
1) its from ubisoft
2) has the ubi uplay drm ?

i want to really see how long you enjoy this game, will check back in a month.
You won't need to wait a month.
Being on that has a large GOG catalog, I do have a dislike for certain DRM schemes, and especially the "always on" DRM system that certain Ubi releases had. And I'm aware of Ubi's stinkers. However, as the saying goes, one can find a diamond in the rough every so often (like Splinter Cell Conviction and RUSE).

SF has a watered down version of UbiDRM, requiring you to only be online for initial verification and of course multiplayer. I didn't make this purchase blind, and I really do not appreciate people being condescending for my choice of purchase. All I asked for, with all due respect, was other players to link up with.

Honestly... why not? I've already spotted several guys voting against Ubisoft and their DRM, but don't mind / can't wait for Blizzards Diablo 3.
Credibility? What's that again?

I thank you for your consideration in any case.
I don't know why everybody is being so butthurt... I played the demo on the 360 & thought it was kind of cool. The mind switching mechanic was pretty cool & totally unexpected for a racing game. I might pick it up sooner or later (i.e. if I can find it cheap enough & actually have some spare money)... hell I may just pick the 3DS driver game up too if they have similar mechanics & aren't the exact same game just retitled.
My cousin is a huge Driver fan, and has been following the series since I introduced the first game to him on the Playstation 1. And he didn't really enjoy the demo either, like me and many others. Still, he caved in (after all, it was Driver), and he's got more or less nothing but praise for the game now. We're never getting a Driver 1 again, but San Francisco is a fantastic game, according to him.

This has re-ignited my interest in the game, and will most certainly pick it up as soon as the price is low enough.
been watching few TB videos of it and it does sound fun

but

I just cannot shed the feeling how awfully evil you are. I might misunderstand the mechanics but you are talking over minds of other drivers in the city right?

so average John Smith is driving to work, then you pop in and take over his mind. Next thing John sees is him doing 150MPH and a solid concrete wall he is about to hit.

bashing an old lady with a baseball bat in GTA is one thing. D:SF is just another more subtle but in some ways much worse.

I really want to get this game, but currently broke lol. Loved all the previous Driver games.
Thread title reminds me of: "Calling all cars in the area!"
