Yeah, it seem to be something of a mystery as to what has happened to the Legend Entertainment rights (publishers of this and Superhero League of Hoboken amongst others) IIRC it was thought that Atari had them but they weren't on the list of miscellaneous assets that Tommo got from the auction...

Although Crosstime saloon was based on a series of novels so there might be further licensing issues there...

There is a Legend Entertainment game on GOG -- Unreal 2. Also, the expansion in Unreal Gold.
I guess, their older games were too niche so whoever holds the rights just forgot about them. Pity, they had some really nice adventures. About half may have licensing issues but Timequest, Spellcasting series, Eric the Unready, and Superhero League should be clean.

Those games were developed by Legend but Published by Epic Megagames while the others were self published by Legend themselves - Publishing rights are more important than who developed the games in getting stuff here, it seems
I've read the first book a little while back, at any rate.

It's actually a lot more confusing. Only the earliest titles were distributed by Legend themselves. At some point they had distribution agreement with Mindscape. Callahan's Crosstime Saloon was "distributed" by Mindscape and "published" by Take2, whatever that means (I just checked the box). Wheel of Time was published by GT interactive and John Saul's Blackstone Chronicles by RedOrb. A few games were published by Sir-Tech at some point (Trophy Case 2).
BTW, there is another Legend game in GOG catalog - Star Control 3. This one was originally published by EA. Often the publishing agreement is time limited and the rights revert to the developer. Trying to figure out each particular case may become very tricky. That's one of the common reasons why some games did not make it GOG yet.
I absolutely LOVE the legend games. The stories and scenes from those adventures are forever imprinted on my brain!

They must come here! I will buy them and gift a gazillion copies!
Never played the game...but the novels were awesome!
Voted for this a looong time ago. Also the other Legend adventures (Spellcasting, Eric, Death Gate etc)
Huge fan of the books. I wasn't even aware that this was a thing. Upvoted.
