I'm new to the forums and so forgive me if I have posted in the wrong place.

I am stuck in the cave in Syria. I have done everything that I can possibly think of, consulting many walkthroughs for this game, but still the cave door doesn't re-open.
Am I just missing something totally obvious? :/

I've done all that but still nothing happens. I have the Lens, have read the inscription and looked at the statue many times over. I'm just stuck!

Try right/left clicking on the statue and map with latin inscription.

I'll try that now but from what I've just read in yet another walkthrough it appears that this is a glitch and my only solution is to restart the game. :(
