We got Activision, so why the hell not?
I imagine that GOG have already tried to communicate with EA at some point. I don't see any logical reason for EA to refuse them; at the end of the day it's more money in EA's pocket. It would certainly be nice to see some old EA classics on here like Syndicate Wars, Dungeon Keeper, etc.
No one seems to have successfully convinced EA (or Lucasarts for that matter) that they will make money from their back catalogue. Lucasarts are in a far better position to know there is money to be made here as they launched Secret of Monkey Island SE & Monkey Island 2 SE. However everyone was expecting they would be followed by other classics like Maniac Manson, Full Throttle and Sam & Max and that didn't happen. We know Lucasarts are making money on games like Loom and The Dig as they are available but not their whole catalogue has been released I can only assume they are not making ENOUGH money. Publisher greed? Probably.

As it stands with EA they are more willing to release old games as freebies to promote new versions (like C&C) or just to shut the fanbase up. They don't seem to think there is any money to be made in releasing them comercially again.
Even if we get EA isn't there some issue with "Lord British" owning some of the characters or locations? I'm pretty sure Ultima will never see re-release.
I want to see Ultima Online as part of GOG. ( game developement , servers )

If Lord British had his way, game companies would be paying to show "his" portion of the moon in games.
Other than Ultima Underworld, I no longer remember the series fondly. And yes, that includes U7.

They've simply aged badly and RPGs have skyrocketed in quality (not just graphics).

Lets not forget about Janes Combat Sims as well.....

They took bullfrog and then sat on it.
They took Janes and then sat on it.
They took Origin and then sat on it.

THE LINE MUST BE DRAWN HERE AND NO FURTHER!!!

Great First Contact reference. EA has assimitated quite a few great studios, seems resistance is futile.
Play Ultima IV in a Flash version!
