Siannah: Doesn't matter how inXile, Larian or anyone else does it.

Gonchi: Sure it matters, it matters to me, at least enough to comment on it. I never said there was a single correct way, merely what I considered the ideal one.
No it doesn't. Sure you can pick whatever works best for you and claim it to be the ideal one, but in the end it doesn't matter - because you're a backer. Not a decision maker, nor eligible to be.

Oh, and commenting on it on a board that the actual decision makers probably don't read, is proof enough why you shouldn't be among them, as well as that it doesn't matter.

VABlitz: So, I guess that means I'm stuck with it on Steam because I wanted to play the Alpha and help with development. A piss poor way of doing things and it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Last time I will Alpha/Beta anything on Steam. If I had an option, I would have gotten my Alpha/Beta release with GOG
Considering Steam was always the only beta/alpha option for inXile there's really nothing to feel sour about. They never did promise beta/alpha access outside Steam.

I knew the risks, but still it could have been just a Alpha/beta key and then you get to choose where you want the retail version from. Like some other games are doing...Original Sin.

Sure it does. Whether it mattering to me matters to inXile or beyond is something entirely different.

If I wanted them to read my comments, I'd have addressed them directly to them, they've seemed quite keen on reading and replying to what I've had to say in the past. I haven't though, I'm clearly not quite as invested in this as you are.
I appreciate what Valve did for PC gaming but all the same they can go to hell. They seem to be turning more and more into a monopoly and I don't care how cheap their games can be, I prefer paying more for a game on GOG towards a game on steam any day. We pay less and less for products but in the end, we lose more purchase freedom and consumer protection because of it.
