OK, I've had a few stiff vodka's because I've discovered its going to cost about £10k to fix a drainage problem around my garage but ...

I haven't really bothered too much with the bonus content before but I have just been scanning through the artbook for Witcher 2 which I picked up in the recent sale - and .. wow!

That stuff is beautiful.

I am now hunting through my GOG (and Steam) collection for other gems I have missed by ignoring this resource.

Don't have The Witcher 2. Is the artbook really that good?
Yeh - over 100 pages of gorgeous artwork from conceptual pencil drawings up to fully realised colour artwork and renders at various stages. Commentary on background, comic book style scenes, character and race portaits.

P.S. And it's not just a bunch of images strung together in a PDF - they have put together a proper coffee table artbook with decent production values.

Yeah, thanks to CD Projekt being the parent company of GOG and CD Projekt Red (who made The Witcher 1&2), they were able to package a ton of nice bonus stuff. The Witcher comes with 2 soundtracks, an art book, a bunch of videos, a calendar, and a short story in addition to the usual stuff.
But was the quality of the artbook in Witcher 2 fixed already?

Sorry, I don't understand that question (might be the vodka).
There was a issue with artbook after Enhanced Edition - the quality was lower than it was before, I'm wondering if that was fixed or not

Last time I checked, the artbook was of very high quality. Could you tell me just how lacking the quality was, in your opinion? I'll take a second look just to make sure everything is on the up-and-up :D

I think it was updated few weeks ago. Still remember a thread for that.

I don't know, because I don't have it. I just remember people telling it was less than half the size of previous one, sorry, can't help you.

Good to hear that, thanks. Will think of buying witcher 2 with new PC :P

The old one was roughly in 57MB size, while the new updated version take around 337MB space. I still keep both for comparison. Although, I couldn't really tell the difference because i have a small & cheap LCD.

The current one I am downloading at the moment is 332 MB large :D. If it gets any bigger, it might want to take over my PC :D. I hope that helps.
Oh, I see - not having seen a "before and after" I can't comment.
It looks good to my vodka addled brain this evening.

Some of the line drawing are obvious scans with cut-out edges around them and speckling in the periphery. Colour imagery and renders are of a fairly high quality as far as I can tell. Text is text and not scanned text.

Zooming in quite far (400%+) and the quality is being maintained in most cases - except perhaps the scanned line drawings.

Edit: I have a fairly good quality ViewSonic 1600x1200 LCD I use for photo editing and I'm quite impressed with what I see.
