I searched and didn't see anything on it but what are the chances do you guys think we'll see a release for this? I tried installing my copy but I can't do it on X64 -.- and I really don't want to jump through the hoops from what I've seen to make it work either.

Blade Runner plays well on Win 7 x64 but the game's installer is 16bit which isn't supported under MS x64 platforms. If you have your original Blade Runner Media here is an easy guide to build yourself a working installer with all of the associated files needed. At first glance it may seem like a pain but it's actually a very easy straightforward process given that the author has done all of the heavy lifting and provides all of the files needed along with the guide.
I remember that game very well done and did have the same feel as the film.

Oh you mean we have to search for "Blade Runner" to find blade runner related posts! Someone should do a FAQ or something.

On a less sarcastic note, this is an awesome game and I hope it will go for sale somewhere. If not GOG then anywhere! (Don't have my copy anymore)

drsigmund: i hope so the graphics alone blew ff7 out of the water
That's not really that big of an accomplishment. Being a PlayStation game meant that Final Fantasy VII's backgrounds were half the resolution of Blade Runner's, and much of Final Fantasy VII's graphical praise was due to its pre-rendered cutscenes.
Licensing hell, will never happen.

Thank God for abandonware.

Is the licensing situation really that impossibly desperate? Does anyone have any up-to-date insider info about the license situation with Electronic Arts / Warner Brothers and have any negotiations been attempted between GOG and said parties?

With 16536 votes it is currently the 11th most voted game on GOG's community wishlist, I know this has little effect on how fast -or if ever- a game will appear here on GOG but the demand for Blade Runner certainly is very high.

The rights to the movie are held by the Blade Runner Partnership, which is comprised of two people. They are the ones who licensed the rights to the game to Westwood. Some more info here:

Glad I saw this thread, a few days ago I was thinking of posting something similar to the OP:) I had even voted on the game being here a long time ago.
It would be cool for this game to come to gog; it looks cool.
Supposedly, Ridley Scott wants to make a sequel to the film. If that happens, it might give the people involved an incentive to get the game back on sale while the franchise is in the public eye.

Oh good. :P His last few movies have been so mediocre this would be a perfect way to totally fuck up a classic. Thank god Lucas never did this with the Star Wars Trilogy.

Oh wait....

Which is precisely why I necro'd this thread: If a new and potentially crappy movie is allowed to be made, then surely they would allow an old game that is great to be re-released, just seems like common sense. So let's not give up hope quite yet.
