A while ago I had the idea of a few friends (mostly international and none local to myself at least) meeting up online once a month for a friendly game of cards.
I quit poker a long time ago (too many gambler pitfalls for my liking for one thing), and Blackjack cropped up as a good all rounder game - whilst there can be skills employed in it, theres also enough left to chance for anyone to plainly be lucky (as long as you dont play against four clones of "Rain Man" O___o).

Anyways... here was the problem - due to some peoples net connection, using the likes of Skype, webcams and a real deck wasnt really plausible (along with lifestyles etc).

I searched for open sourced versions with multiplayer, but all i seem to find are single player "card counting" trainers.

None of us have a wish to sign up to another site (particularly as so many are "gateway" gambling sites.

...and then I thought about apps for smartphones and tablets - and there are way TOO MANY for me to begin sifting through - and (for me) the current version of the Google PLAY store is terrible for trying to find anything relevant.

WHAT WE WANT TO DO:

1: Play as hassle free as possible.
2: Play each other directly without the bother of some stranger trying to join the game.
3: No 3rd party accounts if possible.
4: No costs of setting up / getting the software (cheap bundle games not included in that of course).
5: An inbuilt chat function would also be great, though we could use a mutlitude of other possibilities.
6: Cross platform software - be it iOS / Android / Windows etc
7: Functionality is far more important than graphics.

Other solutions / suggestions also welcome.

So my glittery little GOGlodytes... any good ideas / suggestions out there?

Probably missing something out, so will likely edit this post later on.

Doesnt look like it has blackjack right now, and the price is a little high for what we wanted, BUT I have bookmarked it to keep track as it does look rather intereting for another (similar) idea I had - thanks!

...and thinking on it, everyone involved has a steam account i think.
Nobody else have an idea?

:(
...nobody?!?
I don't have a suggestion but, I have interest.

seems like some java wiz-kid would be able to whip up something like that over the weekend,

know any?

edit: there are quite a few blackjack games on Facebook that support the requirements stated. You do have to have a Facebook account but, all that costs is a pittance of deliberately bogus information and an email address. in.com provides a nice short domain and is a handy place to route your junk mail.

Honestly, having a FAKEbook account has really added a lot of convenience to my life and a bunch of free games from giveaways. You can sign in to almost anything with it saving you the hassle of registering on something you're only going to use once.

evilnancyreagan: seems like some java wiz-kid would be able to whip up something like that over the weekend,
part of the reason I asked on here actually - I figured someone may have made something along the lines perhaps for a college / uni course even.
