Okay, next really annoying bug: mouse acceleration. IT WON'T FUCKING DISABLE.

I saw that... it's pretty hilarious.

Especially at the end, there's at least a dozen soldiers firing at him, and although he does get shot, it's not enough to kill him.

I wonder how it compares to other COD and MOH games? Are all the recent ones a bit like this? Anyone know?

What I am more interested in is how reproducible that is. And if it might actually be BECAUSE he doesn't fire that this happens.

As a simple example: You are writing a simple AI. It has a tendency to attack the greatest threat first (in Dragon Age, this is handled by aggression, armor, etc). So the guy who is not shooting (and is hanging back) is a low priority. Unfortunately, the guys that the AI is targeting are unkillable.

That being said, I don't think this is possible in the older CoDs. They largely followed the "clear this area, advance" system, and even had endlessly spawning enemies. So while one or two levels might have worked this way (just as I imagine there are levels of BLOPS where this is not possible), the majority won't.

The thing that amazed me the most was that his AI buddies cleared the enemies for him. The FPS games I've played (not very many) you're either on your own or have awful AI help (even HL2, lauded in many ways has useless AI help).

Perhaps it is just this level, but I'd actually be quite interested to see how little work you'd have to do to complete it.

Does seem a lot closer to an interactive film though (which is not necessarily a bad thing).

Oh, it definitely was interesting, but that has been around for the entire CoD series. That is how you present your buddies as "badass". By having them actually kill people.

Anyone have a link to a Hardened run where the player actually DOES shoot? Interesting to see if the difficulty increases. If so, then it is just a funny bug, as opposed to the design flaw everyone is presenting it as.

Perhaps one of our fine friends on GOG who has purchased the game will be able to try a few missions with and without shooting to see the difference?

For SCIENCE! (or at least a mythbusters-style approximation of science)

I do wonder if it is designed to enable the majority of players to complete the campaign.

After all, people have suggested that a lot of folks don't complete games for whatever reason. By having your AI buddies mop up any enemies you can't finish, you can make the campaign seem as challenging as you like (the PC gets first shots at enemies, then AI finish any left over, if PC doesn't shoot AI kills em all?)

It would be nice to see a "kill count" much like in Chaos Engine where you can see how much each PC/NPC has contributed to each mission.
It was pretty fun, kept me glued to the screen most of the 2 days playing it. One minor gripe tho:

SPOILER ALERT

The story twist was easy to predict. I had my thoughts right in the beginning, but it was confirmed in the VC tunnels, long before the end of the game.
Yeah, it is pretty great to play Zork on a modern-day console.

...Oh, you mean the shooty game. Eh. Don't really care for it, but I don't care for most.

Well it has that in the zombie maps.... and that's it.
