Hello, not too long ago, I tried looking for a digital download of the games Black & White 1 and 2 + the expansions. Surprisingly, there is no digital download available anywhere. After googling for hours to find info, I found a rather large group of people who all wanted to buy the first game, but unwilling to spend upwards of 70-80 bucks on amazon just gave up.

Has anyone else been trying to find a digital download and feel that it would be a great addition to this site? I honestly think it would bring a lot of new attention tot his site. Especially with the new game "From Dust" coming out which is bringing a lot of attention to the series.
Lionhead developed the games, and it is now owned partially by Microsoft.

Activision had the distribution rights for the base games. EA for the expansions.

I doubt we'll see this one here anytime soon.

Ah, that is a shame. Its unfortunate that such great games were completely discontinued.
I never played the second one, but I have played the first.. Still got my copy (a doublepack with the expansion) around somewhere... I never was very good at it, but it is a fun game.
B&W was awesome! I remember it way back in the day.... It was a funny / fun game to play, but also EXTREMELY tedious and LONG. Each "level" (world) took forever to complete, and not being able to skip the intro / tutorial was a major annoyance.

I never did beat the game.... Even though it was hilarious and fun to play, I gave up on the 2nd world / level... I don't think my creature ever became as big a giant as he could have. lol

Still, if the series was on here, I would get them, and play them again. Maybe even finish 'em this time! :)

The horror, they still haunt me to this day.

Other than that it was a pretty good game, got quite far into it but something happened to my save and I never finished it.
I don't think I've ever got beyond the second island. I tended to just goof around on the challenge maps and play with my creature. (I always liked the tiger... and it is possible to teach it to be nice.)

That was by far my favourite part of the game.

They appear again in the second game

I really like B&W games, but i find it a game unbalanced. The enemy can trow a fireball right into your base but you CAN't trown a Fireball back to him? Turns every attack power useless... Unless its your creature using it.
I'm seriously considering reinstalling now that this thread has reminded me of it... but I've started some other games... *sighs* I hate my wandering attention span at times.
When I found out about GoG, I really hoped I would find B&W in it's collection. I admit I first tried the second B&W so when I tried the first one it seemed so old.

So its final that there will be no B&W here?

Nothing is final, but noone can tell you anything specific one way or the other. If the games ever come to GOG, you won't know about it until they're released. Until that happens (if it ever happens), the only thing you'll know for sure is that they are not here now.

Until the patch, which allowed it :)
I wish we would get a good black and white 3.
one with more depth and complexity (improved from B&W1)

And then a remade city building thing from B&W2
