looks pretty awesome to me. I'm officially excited.
EDIT: the video on the right is the actual trailer. The one on the left is a comparison video.
Just figured I'd make that clear.

It isn't in game stuff... obviously, but I like it and I like the ideas in it.
Not crazy about the name, as has been said by many in another GOF BioShock: Infinite thread. But that's okay.
Flawed in some ways as it was, I loved that Bioshock's story dealth with themes of Ayn Rand's Objectivism run amok and carried out to its tragic extreme. Personally, I view Rand's philosophy as "I got mine, screw you" and find both it and her personally to be morally and ethically bankrupt. So, the game appealled to me.
I'm excited that the developer this time is taking a new perspective and building on themes of nationalism or jingoism run amok. This time there are themes of racial purity, the power of the state, and allegiance to a collective vision... all things that I also find to be abhorrent and that would be anathema to an Objectivist as well.
Maybe some 4 or 5 years from now there will be a BioShock game set in some Marxist dystopia gone awry. Maybe a city built inside a volcano. I like that these games deal with political topics... and not just in the "those guys bad, we good" way that military shooters do.
If there is a political message in Bioshock as a series, it is likely that extremism in any political philosophy or ideology will lead to failure... something I think most all moderate people can agree on.
I hope there is deeper gameplay and a more nuanced moral choice system and in BioShock. In any event, being a cloud city, you can bet there will be flying :-) and that may be awesome.
i like the trailer. my only real impetus to play bioshock is for the interesting setting, and this one looks really amazing.

HoneyBakedHam: I'm excited that the developer this time is taking a new perspective and building on themes of nationalism or jingoism run amok.

Given how Rapture went through a similar Balkanization (Ryan v Fontaine, the Splicers "Everyone for themselves" mentality, etc), it would be interesting to see how they keep the "paradise gone to hell in a handbasket" premise fresh.
On a side note, it would appear that mid-Twentieth Century/Golden Age USA is a primary source of inspiration for video game hits lately. I'm hyped about the X-Com reboot in particular, which also happens to be fielded by 2K (Marin). I will miss the graphic novel style intros from Microprose's originals, however.
Still need to play System Shock here, so I don't care that much about the "modern" version of the game....
(ok I'm lying here...)
Not too excited. Hopefully this one will grab my attention.
