nijuu: Well i bought it from a trader and yet to play it. Reason being is i have yet to play Bioshock 1 or 2. Do i need to play those at all before this? Or is is completely self contained story ?.
Infinite is completely different, as far as I know. At best it would have a casual nod to the original.

You do have to play Bioshock before Bioshock 2 though, I would say.

You can play it before playing Bioshock 1 or 2, they are not connected (almost not connected, don't wanna spoil anything). The idea is that you can play Infinite first and play the others later, there is no continuation from the previous titles.
All these 10/10 scores. What does that even mean?

I'll just wait for Angry Joe's review and TotalBiscuit's 'analysis' of the options menu and the FOV slider.
Only played it for a bit, the save system is shite, so far I tend to just quit out when it autosaves as I dont know how long it will be til the next autosave.

Other than that, its enjoyable enough, so far.

This game is fantastic!

mrtophat101: 'analysis' of the options menu and the FOV slider.
FOV doesn't quite go high enough (in my opinion) with the maximum setting on the slider.

In 'C:\Users\[username]\Documents\My Games\BioShock Infinite\XGame\Config' there's a file called XUserOptions.ini, which contains a setting 'MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent' which can be altered to increase the range of FOV settings on the slider. I read somewhere the default FOV is 70° - so to get a FOV of 90° on the maximum setting on the slider, you'd set 'MaxUserFOVOffsetPercent' to 28.571428
Might need to set the file to read-only after editing, otherwise the game might reverse the changes.

Same here. I tend to stop playing after area transitions - it's the only time I know for sure that it has saved, as other autosaves complete so quickly that I don't see the 'saving' indicator appear.

Awesome. Thanks!

You're welcome :)

That file also has other useful settings:

MinMouseLookSensitivity=0.100000 <- minimum mouse sensitivity setting on the in-game slider
MaxMouseLookSensitivity=4.000000 <- maximum mouse sensitivity setting on the in-game slider
bAimAssist=True <- Aim assist, which doesn't have an in-game setting unless a controller is plugged in (or so I've heard)

The options menu is pretty well put together, apart from the mouse sensitivity (which has too much of a jump between settings) and FOV sliders.

Like most modern games anything above the default FOV looks fisheyed to me.

StingingVelvet: It was pretty mind-blowing at the time for console-only gamers.
So that must be why B1 got all that praise. The reviewers kept getting excited about the "moral choices", which amounted to "kill the child now or spare her for a greater reward later, repeat the same choice 16x throughout the game". Take any RPG from the early 90's and you'll find much more complex moral dilemmas with different outcomes. It's like these people had never played a decent games before. So I bought into the hype and got the game. It left me with a feeling of "meh". A fun little shooter with a compelling atmosphere, but I failed to see any innovation there. Clive Barker's Undying had already introduced the "one hand for weapons, other for magic" mechanic. so nothing new there.
I havent played much, but the "moral dilemma" at the start where you are encouraged to throw the ball, just felt so wrong, to be included in a videogame, it left a rather bitter aftertaste in my mouth tbh.

Well in the two first ones the moral dilemma was to kill or not little girls... I don't really see anything more "edgy" here.

Because the girls were just a game mechanic for Adam, in B3 its just racist.

What about if you buy a physical copy (can you even do that?)...
