as i posted, i'have tried to run it 2010, so i'm not exactly sure, but i remember:

i was able to start the game, the screen was black during intro and main menu and i think i was able to start a new game than it maybe crashed, but anyway the screen was black.

So it maybe this problem:

Spinorial: If there's a black screen with music playing, that means the game can't find certain files it looks for on its CD. This can be fixed with a registry entry.
at this time there werent much helping tools for this game.

i will try your advices.
Bit of an odd order he has, but stellar games all of them.
I'm not saying Pod Racer should be above some of the obvious omissions but it was still a fun game
Why isn't SW: Rebel Assault in any of your lists? *sigh*

Star Wars Racer is among the best of the genre, the fact that it's Star Wars is just the cherry on top.

Wishbone: I remember hearing a rumor to that effect at the time, but as far as I recall it was quickly debunked. I certainly can't find any mention of it anywhere now.

To the best of my knowledge, the actual situation went something like this:

Obsidian: "Look, we've made a kickass game and we're nearly done, but we need more time to finish it properly."

LucasArts: "Tough. We told you we needed it for Christmas. We still do."

Obsidian: "Well, we kinda thought you'd be flexible when you saw how great the game could be given enough development time."

LucasArts: "You thought wrong. Just give us what you have now. We'll put it on discs and put those in covers with a Star Wars logo on them. That's all that's needed to sell it."

Obsidian: "But... don't you care about quality? About your customers? About possible damage to your reputation?"

LucasArts: "Uhm, no? Perhaps you didn't hear me before. I said Star Wars. Capiche?"
Missed the last part of the story:

[Some time passed]
Obsidian: So, maybe we'll make a big update, adding some of the content we had to cut and give it to people who bought the game?
LucasArts: No need.

Best Star Wars game? As far as I'm concerned, that would be Republic Commando, closely followed by Jedi Knight.

As much as I dislike many LA's business decisions, Obsidian has been consistently releasing unfinished and buggy games regardless of publisher, so I feel that probably falls on their heads much more than on LA's.

tfishell: I really enjoyed Jedi Academy. The Phantom Menace took some effort but I actually beat it and had some fun at parts.

For some reason, in the Jedi Knight game where you play as Kyle Katarn, I couldn't get past the first boss. (I think it was one of those SW chicks with the tail-like appendages for hair.)

Keep in mind that GOG is willing to finally come to the US to pursue LucasArts/Disney; this is of course amongst other publishers but I believe Disney is the key reason (aside from butting heads with Steam) that GOG is willing to spend presumably a lot of money building an office in Los Angeles, California.

I've mentioned this a fair amount since the Polygon article, but I think there is decent reason to have hope with this information.

I loved Dark Forces, but if I had to pick my favorite, I would struggle to pick between my Tie Fighter Collectors Edition or Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.

It is not my favorite but I think it may be the most underrated SW game of all time. It is beautiful, fast, sounds great, fantastic acting courtesy of the guy that played Jango, and has a brilliant way of making squad command fun without being slow and tedious. GREAT GAME!

Do you have a better source than a fan wiki which conspicuously doesn't cite any source for the story?
