I'll nominate the quirky, haunting, and disturbing

Bastard Fairies: Memento Mori

Their music is pretty impossible to describe, but a mash-up of Charles Bukowski, Devo, and The Beatles would be in the ballpark. It is the perfect album for a wet winter semi-suicidal night.

The album is 100% free (and DRM-free), but if you download it and like it, please consider tossing them a few bucks. Musicians need to eat too!
Well I was going to give a link to Stuck Mojo's Southern Born Killers but it doesn't seem to be free anymore. It's definitely the best free album that I've heard

So it's a pay what you want album? Does In Rainbows count then? I'd probably nominate that.

"Pay what you want" definitely counts, as long as it's "free to listen" (as a former musician, I most definitely support artists getting paid for their work)
Please share a link.

Ah just realized it was only pay-what-you-want for a few months following its release.

"We no longer use social networks."

I like them already:)

Edit: Except I notice their onsite music player is actually Facebook, lol.

Good chiptune album: The Best Music by George & Jonathan. "Whale" is beautiful.
