crdy123: hmm... so that was supoosed to happen when everyone started shooting? I just ran with the stuff :)
Wahaha! Man (woman?) after my own heart! I cowered in the vault room until the shooting stopped and killed the last guy out there.

Oh, and Point Lookout is fantastic so far. More than makes up for MZ and OA. These enemies are nasty hard, though, and most of the new weapons are basically armor-piercing (deal extra, unblockable, fixed-value damage). Great if you're using them, bad if they're shooting at you.

It's scripted and supposed to happen but if you have a decent weapon (Gauss Rifle right in the room you open) and have decent VATS perks you can take out all the attackers.
You can actually save Olin and McGraw? O_o They die so quickly, so I never bothered trying. I just grabbed the gear and fought my way out of there.

Yeah, Olin has a fairly crap repair ability she'll offer you if you save her.
Ok just finished The Pitt and it was alright (better than OA) but it wasnt all that great. Im just starting Point Lookout (i literally just bought the ticket and got there) I hope its better than the last two.

Wow, that sucks. Well, what I mean is that it's not at all obvious that the player is able to intervene in what is a scripted event. I'll have to try that next time I do a play through on FO3.
Well it's scripted in the sense that after you enter the loot room, they'll start arguing and then fight each other. Every time. But your controls aren't disabled or anything, and they fight each other normally with whatever they have equipped, so it's completely possible to change the outcome one way or another. If you didn't take the loot and run, they'll attack you too.

I managed to save them but it took several tries. Killing the named guy first using VATS and then grabbing his gatling laser helped quite a bit.

It gets confusing a bit when there are scripted events where there's a certain outcome that's been predetermined. I'm not sure about FO3, but I know of at least one in a FO:NV DLC where the outcome can't be changed, even though you are in control of the character the entire time.
