Filthgrinder: Not a big fan of Manga comics.
I am a Sci-Fi nut, and Appleseed series is the only ones I have read that I like. Not to mention the movies are outstanding.
I read 3 comics of this Berserk, and I just don't see the fascination.
Whiteblade999: Neither did I until about the 4th volume then I locked myself in my room and went through all 30 volumes in something like 3 days. This is coming from a guy who does not like very many manga because they are usually just stupid but this... It has violence to philosophy to turning plot conventions on its head (evil won BIG TIME in this universe after a certain event) to the best art in a manga.
Yeah. I got hooked when an old friend showed me the anime - we ended up drinking beer and watching the whole series in 2 days. I then continuously watched it every year or two until I found the scans and realised just how much MORE there was to the story and how badly they had mangled the whole thing with the anime.
Still, I'm grateful it showed me the way.
