taczillabr: Agreed, even if they lower to 6 hours but maintaining an overall high quality, good story... then even 6 might be acceptable.
I look at game prices the same as a movie. At least 90 minutes per $15. So if it's $60, then I better get at least six hours of gameplay.
I hope you can shoot dudes in it!

I heard they're replacing the guns with walkie talkies.

Interactive walkie talkie simulator 2011 for the Wii.
I can't wait for this game. Loved BC2.

One thing I am kinda not sure about is adding prone in mp - BC2 was working great without it and I think it might upset the balance. Sniper campers in prone...
I hope multiplayer will be as good as in BFBC2 and that they won't make the maps smaller.
As for the singleplayer I can't be sure, in BC2 it was linear, short and too simple, one of the worst SP in FPS I played, but if it was so bad, they can hopefully only improve it.
I'll wait for the first impression before I get the game.

Edit: Oh and please, let there be doors that can be opened in a conventional way instead of destroying them...

I agree. I think it's got to do with the shift of focus from SP to MP in general in shooters nowadays. Buuuut, Battlefield for me was never about single player in the first place.
Battlefield games don't even generally have single player as I recall it. It was the Bad Company offshoots that did, part to justify themselves to the console crowd they were marketed at.

I can't fathom a return to the PC roots having smaller maps, either.
I just hope they won't make smaller maps in order to make gameplay more like in MW games.

Large maps and 64 players was confirmed months ago.

sk8ing667: I normally try to stay away from modern day FPS games, but I may make an exception for this one. It looks promising, I really like the destructible environments aspect. Does anyone know how well it worked in the first game? Fully destroyable maps seems like a big claim to make.
The first game wasn't really as destructible as these ones. It was more of the houses having destructible walls, doors, and sometimes the environment was destructible. Personally, it wasn't as chaotic as it could have been. Good game though. :)
Hear hear, fellow GOGers, details from Gamescom 2011:

trailer featuring jets: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8S_eEv_A5k

4 playable classes
9 maps
4 maps in the Karkand DLC, after launch
sp campaign and co-op missions
3 MP modes revealed, maybe more coming: rush, conquest, team deathmatch
PC maximum players: 64, and commo rose included
PS3/360 maximum players: 24, and commo rose not included

I'm really appreciating DICE's implementation of some features, and seems that the commander's options will be spread for use by every squad leader, I've read there's a MicroUAV for example... A list of weapons etc. at: http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com/fullstory.php?id=165281
