We will know soon enough. Every post will be as a question and no answer will qualify as a solution . . . =)
Ok, I bought a download of Battlefield 2 on sale. Why, oh why do I keep doing this
to myself? Hope, then crushed yet again.

I'm apalled. I bought the game JUST for single player. I never play online multiplayer, and never will. Yes, I knew it was designed for circle-jerks, but decided to get it for the Single Player content anyway.

Years ago, I purchased a game for fifty cents at a thrift store. "Unreal Tournament". It was sorta fun for maybe an hour or so. What I did not like about it was the weird "feel", as if no one was really "there", especially "you".....this is hard to describe, but you know it instantly whem you play.
The physics of your body moving around on the surfaces was just not realistic, and enemies seemed to skim around weirdly.

I get the exact same feel in Battlefield 2. Not good. Could this be my bad graphics? I'm running an HP p6710f. Hmmmm. The figures and the terrain feel "detached" from each other somehow.....like insects skating around on a pond, if you know what I mean? Not doing anything especially strange, but they run at insane speeds that no human carrying a gun and wearing body armor could ever achieve. The tanks move at exactly the same insanely fast speed as the go cart with a machine gun.....what? Nothing seems to have the proper "weight" or correct "feel"......nothing in this game feels "real".
It's "arcade-y" in the very worst possible way.

Also many years ago I bought a hard copy of "Battlefield 1942", and played only a few minutes of single player. I hated it. A LOT. Just pure chaos of figures running around like ants, and I especially hated the stupid nametags floating over everyone's head, as if you cared what an NPC was named.....Battlefield 2 has this same "feel" in single player. Fking chaos, with everyone running around at random! Uh, real soldiers would not behave that way.

I also cringed HARD when I discovered that the "maps" are not missions.
It's Fkng "capture the flag"???!!!! Whaaaat? The little kids game? Seriously? Yes. Seriously. It's fking Capture the Flag.
What a huge Ultra Suck moment.

And then the final nail in the coffin lid....no matter which weapons I select, or how many shots I fire, my bullets seem to literally bouce off the enemy.....yet their shots kill me within just a couple of hits? What. The. Fk.
