orcishgamer: I played the demo tonight. I may pick it up this week, it's 1200 points though, making it a bit steep. Still, I only want 2 titles from Summer of Arcade this year so it's not that bad. I'll have to check into co-op options, but it seemed to me that I remember thinking it had decent co-op.

You kind of have to pick your gear and abilities for each quest, kind of interesting actually. Combat involves getting your ass out of the way a lot, which can be tricky since you're on a crumbling, floating platform.

obsines311: Sounds interesting. Is there some sort of platforming involved? It would be nice if it has, not saying that it should have. :)
Your evasion is rolling, there are areas where you dodge and fight enemies while cannons you don't have time to take down shoot at you. It's not traditional platforming, but it is a bit strategic (and fun).

Now I'm even more hyped for this game. Here's hoping the PC release comes soon. :)
I reviewed it last night, suffice it to say it is not only one of the best downloadable games this year, but it is one of the best period.

Thanks for the nice review. :)
I am interested in the game but will wait for PC version.
Unfortunately, I have no love for TotalBiscuit, but Greg Kasavin is the only reviewer I've ever really given a damn about, and I've been quite interested in Bastion both because it looks like a cool game, and because of Kasavin's involvement.

I imagine watching that interview would be akin to spending a day with both Christopher Lloyd and Tommy Wiseau, so I'll have to pass on that. :P

reaver894 places the necro card (will edit in said card when I get home if i remember)

Im finally going to bite the bullet and see what the fuss is about, Im curious to try it and was waiting for a sale or my lick to change on steam gifts but alas neither has come up.

So my question, Steam (dies on the inside a little) or Gamersgate? any difference in the versions blah blah blah (im leaning towards GG cause id get some blue coins)

Use Steam for the demo. Gamersgate for the actual purchasing. It's DRM-free there.

The Steam version has achievements and a small easter egg in the New Game Plus (if you're curious, look up 'Bastion Turret Opera' on Youtube).
Neither of these should be enough to swing you towards buying on Steam, especially considering your stated reaction to Steam.
thanks guys
