It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Lunar_Savage: Now if I could just get Fallout 2 to run. Spent $6 and nothing I do will make it run. It just boots up to a black screen and it locks the computer up. Have to do a hard reboot to get it back to normal.

Navagon: What OS are you using? If it's Vista or 7 makes sure DEP is disabled. Also make sure that your firewall is set to game mode or otherwise set to not pose any questions while the game is running.

There are other tips. But for that kind of problem, those are the things most likely to screw you over.

Oh and are you sure that when it crashes CTRL + ALT + DEL doesn't work?
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.

Yes, ctrl+alt+del does not work.

I will try the firewall tip, but how do I disable DEP?

Control Panel - System - Advanced Settings - Performance - Settings - Data Execution Prevention - then set it to only cover essential programs.

Looks like it's already set up for that. Guess I'll give the firewall tip a shot and let you know how it goes.

Edit: Thanks man! The firewall was the problem. Setting it to game mode worked like a charm.

I'm kind of still new to PC gaming (been using consoles mainly).

And I'm really loving this site more and more btw. xD

It's quite likely that. I've had similar problems. But it's odd that a GOG game, especially an offline one would query the internet connection.

If your firewall doesn't have an offline mode (usually accessible via right clicking on the toolbar icon) then I can recommend Comodo. Zonealarm also has a game mode, but I don't find it as good for Win 7 64.

That's alright. Let me know if that solves your problem.

This is a copy and paste so . . .

Are your video drivers up to date?

If running Win 7 / Vista - Did you ...

install as an administrator?
turn UAC off before installing?
install in a directory outside of Program Files?
right click the game shortcut, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab and check mark "Run this program as an administrator"?
try using different compatibility modes, starting with the newest and working back to the oldest?

If you have a dual / quad core CPU, did you try setting the affinity to a single core? You can do it manually by starting the game, ALT-TAB out of the game, open task manager (CTRL - ALT - DEL ), find the [game name].exe on the Processes tab, right click the exe and click Set affinity . . . on the resulting dialog. Un-check all but the CPU 0 check box. (See attached image) Close the task manager and play the game. If this helps I suggest using RunFirst it sets the affinity for the game without having to go thru the task manager process each time you play.

If running an AMD dual core CPU, did you try the AMD Dual Core Optimizer

If running Win 7 / Vista 64 bit, did you try limiting the memory?
If you've tried all of the above I have nothing else . . . =)
