It's this time of the week when everyone is happy for at least two reasons: it's Friday so the weekend begins and GOG is having another bargain deal on classic games! This weekend, until Monday, March 21 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, we're offering you an up to 50% off discount on selected titles from Atari's huge catalogue. How about grabbing One Unit Whole Blood, Blood 2: The Chosen, Independence War, Independence War 2 and Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, all for half the price! Buy all games or complete the promo pack and you'll get 50% off. If you want to buy only selected games from the offering, you'll still get a 25% discount. Check the [url=http://www.gog.com/en/promo/atari_games]promo page for all details.

CaptainGyro: I've seen this type of thing said a few times here, and I never bought it because I don't think it looks that appealing ( and I think a lot of gog people are just downright crazy anyway)
But I am going to buy it anyway right now just to see if all this talk is true.

It better be good or you're in trouble buster

spindown: I would be interested to know how you like the game. There is a huge number of rave reviews of Blood here, but I just don't get what people see in it. I actually played Blood back when it was first released and did have some fun with it. But when I look at it now, it just seems like a very primitive game that hasn't aged well at all (the same goes for Duke Nukem 3D imo). Is everyone suffering from a nostalgia-induced mass delusion, or am I crazy for not seeing why Blood is still a great game in 2011? Maybe I will have to buy it after all, just to see for myself...
I played it for a little while, and I'm in the camp that thinks it nostalgia-induced mass delusion.
It's kinda cool, but there's really nothing that says "OMG you MUST play this game." I obviously expected it to be dated graphically, that's not my main complaint with it (but seriously it's pretty goddamn ugly ). I was hoping with all the gushing there would at least be some kind of goofy charm or amazing atmosphere/story/depth or SOMETHING to it though
Also the controls kinda suck .

FuzzyFireball I hate you so so so much right now.

I actually own the Blood CD version, and while it's decent, I've always thought it paled in comparison to Duke 3D. I've had a lot of fun with the Shadow Warrior demo though, so I hope that one appears on GOG.
Blood 1 is a good decent game. I agree Duke 3D is better, but the memories.. Does anyone remember in Doom when you had the Imps shooting fireballs at you, then you grabbed the shotgun and fired, resulting in them flying over the cliff edge! Classic stuff! Blood was similiar with the monks, all the blood appeared when you equipped the two shotguns. The monks were great in Blood 1. Hmmm..The only cumbersome problem I found with Blood 1 was the controls, they were abit wonky. Shadow Warrior was good too, when you put the difficulty up only to be greeted by a black ninja on the first level haha! They were/are all good. I really hope to see some of the old games here like, Doom, Hexen, Heretic, Strife etc.. I don't really like many of the new shooters, some are fine; my favourite was F.E.A.R 1 mainly because it was a well balanced game. Anyway, I disgress..

I came here because Atari are doing the same sale on other sites, and have half off NWN Diamond on Impulse. But here, nothing, no change whatsoever.

My guess is different deals for different sites.
http://www.impulsedriven.com/explore/atari/onsale
Put me in the camp who would like to see Shadow Warrior come out properly. And by properly, I mean "available for sale on GoG."

I already have Blood1, and wanted Blood2 even though it's just a shooter (which, as I've said about all shooters, are just Quake with new dogs.) I'll take the others as they're on sale and I'm not sure where my copy of alone in the dark for dreamcast is.
Gah I wish I can play Blood and all those other 2.5D games, but I get motion sickness (I think) from them :(.

P.S. Booooo-urns to the old 25%/50% thing.

It's not my fault you're blind to the atmosphere, story and charm that is clearly there.

Deal with it.

I don't need those, Blood is one of the best First Person Shooters out there. :)
Anyway, I wish this had been a promo of the Infinity Engine games...
At least the lack of good sales finally allowed me to give a small boost to my Humble Bundle donation. I've been wanting to since christmas.
