I wouldn't call myself a Trekkie, but this is pretty damn cool.

"Artemis simulates a spaceship bridge by networking several computers together. One computer runs the simulation and the "main screen", while the others serve as workstations for the normal jobs a bridge officer might do, like Helm, Communication, Engineering, and Weapon Control."

Basically, one workstation-less asshole (er, the Captain) orders around other bridge officers to perform various bridge tasks-- be it combat, navigation, etc.

I haven't played it myself, but it looks like a cool concept.

(Some gameplay)
Indies have creative stuff like this and the actual Star Trek license gives us crap like Star Trek: Legacy which is borderline unplayable without mods.

I honestly can't come up with the last good Star Trek game.

Then again, I haven't played that many.

Off the top of my head there have been a few:

Star Trek 25th Anniversary
Star Trek: Judgement Rights
Star Trek The Next Generation: A Final Unity
Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force
Star Trek: Legacy < Only with Chris Jones' Ultimate Universe Mod

Then you start falling down into mediocrity and clones with Star Trek skins. Star Wars has generally done a lot better when it comes to games.

This is very cool in an incredibly geeky way. I'd love to try this out someday...
Dominion Wars was a fairly good game, not brilliant but a lot better than I expected.

As for this game, it looks pretty sweet, going to see if I can try the demo with a mate, my rosella can be the captain, he's bossy enough
The majority of my friends here play video games, but I doubt I'll be able to get them to try this, especially since half of them use MacBook Pros.
Actually, the best star trek game was a 2002 Activson title called Bridge Commander.

I always felt this one was closest to the spirit of Trek and the gameplay of what a fan imagines doing. I enjoyed it back in the day. There is a pretty big modding community dedicated to the game, still ongoing to this day. Sort of analogous to Baldur's Gate and Thief modders with the longetivity of an "old" game.

It's out-of-print and ergo pricy second-hand, so it'd be a perfect shoe-in for GOG.
SIXTY DOLLARS?!

michaelleung: SIXTY DOLLARS?!
OR a 1+ minute youtube vid of 3 people playing the demo and its a 6 licence deal as well
I loved Starfleet Command. That was an excellent game. My dad bough a cheap collection of a bunch of Star Trek games and I remember that one being the only one I thought as being really worth playing. Of course, the only other game I remember from the set was New Worlds, so... yeah.
