I'm struggling to find it on the GOG wishlist, and it always was a pain when it comes to search results...featuring, as it does, a single letter.

But yes, how many of you lot played the original Z (or Z95 of course)?

I used to have a copy of it, but one of my "friends" must have borrowed it and never returned it, because it aint there anymore.

Was a fantastic game though; had the appearance of simplicity, but was hard as nails. Had destructible terrain, and beat Relic to the whole territory-capturing system by a long shot.
Yes, I recall this game. Never played Z95 but I did enjoy the original. My smart ass robot Sergeants always amused me.
Great game, I have a version from an old game compilation at home. But yeah, it's hard, I never managed to get very far.
Yeah, I played Z back in the day. Great game, rather minimalistic and super difficult. I wouldn't mind playing it again sometime.

hah, me neither. I was kid when I played it, and I managed to sorta bottleneck myself on this one level, where I accidentally destroyed bridges before I'd crossed them, and the enemy piled up on the other side...and I just ended up with this tank siege with neither side progressing.

That's one of the reasons I'd love to play it again actually; now that I'm older and wiser (theoretically), I might actually be able to complete it.

Had some bastard not "borrowed" it from me. :(
Bought it on eBay a few months ago :D

Yeah I've heard of it since it was first released. Never got around to playing it, which is why it caught my interest when I spotted a mint copy on eBay.
Perhaps you need some Zod Engine

search the wishlist for "Z 1"
I found it by searching for "bitmap" (in wishlist). I was really young back when I played it, and I liked it a lot. Lost it somewhere, though.
Z was great, loved those robots.
I don't remember it, but I'm quite certain I played a demo on a friend's Windows machine. I probably still have the demo on a CD somewhere.
My cousin brought it to my house when I was 5. My dad wasn't fond of the language I remember. :P

A few years ago I found a copy of it for a dollar at a Ham Show.
