I remember someone making a thread a while ago requesting a shortlist of tank simulations or something. Tread Marks isn't so much a simulation as a multiplayer racing/deathmatch game made by the guy who made DX-Ball, and whom a certain memorial indie games prize is named after. The game plays a little faster than BattleTanx, if you remember that, and there's a bevy of custom tanks and flags and weapon editors available to registered users. They just lowered the price to $5 USD (it was $12 when I bought it), so now is the time to get it.

If you ARE a seasoned player, I'm trying to find a decent single player mod, something mission based, kinda like the old BattleTanx campaigns. Or like a Tron Tanks analog (like the arcade game, but third-person).
