It took me a while to find it, but I think this link will help you:

AoE & RoR Trial Campaigns & Scenarios

There you can download all the maps and campaigns from the trial and they work with the Gold version of AoE.

For those looking for the Rise of Rome expansion, there's an Age of Empires: Collector's Edition still on sale here in Europe (you can still find it in any electronics store in Germany and on Amazon.de for €10) that contains not only the original with the Rise of Rome expansion, but also AoE 2 with the Conqueror's expansion. It's all contained on one DVD.

(I assume that there was never any Dutch-language version of the game released - every game I've ever bought in Holland has always been in English at the very least)

The German edition is an EFIGS release (I assume much like the UK release), which means it's also playable in English, and the entire collection is fully free of DRM and copy protection.

I don't know if I'm too late at the party, but anyway. I was not able to re-install Age Of Empires just now to verify my claim, but a long time ago I think I managed to install the demo's campaigns in my complete version of Age Of Empires. The campaign files I used I found on this page:

http://aoe.heavengames.com/dl-php/showfile.php?fileid=2226

And I simply copied these files in my Campaign folder and I was able to play them IIRC.
Some guy in this thread seems to say these files are the only one that works in the Gold version. I guess it's worth a shot.

*EDIT*
Ghildrean beat me to the finish line! D:

Ditto in the U.S. Last time I checked it was about $10 USD. A steal! Man, I'm gonna have to reinstall them and have a go. There went my weekend! :(
The demo was simply awesome lol i loved more then the full game hahah
HAH!!!!

Success!!! FINALLY!!!!

I can now play the two RoR Demo scenarios !!!! This is great, I LOVED those two, and I haven't powered my old Win 95 computer on in over 3 years so it may not even work anymore and I thought I might never be able to play these again.

LOL, I know this is an old thread, but I came back to it, went to the threads linked above, and tried again, and for whatever reason they worked this time!!! Several years ago I tried copying the files from that old Win95 computer to my newer rig, but it wouldn't work. When I originally did this thread and tried those links, I downloaded the files, and they didn't work.

But today, SUCCESS!!! And I have no idea why. They only thing I can think of is I put the files in the wrong folder originally, but I don't know. All I know is today I have success and I can play two of my all time favorite RoR scenarios. (When I used that old Win95 machine, I used to fire up the Demo as often as I fired up the regular game because I liked those two scenarios so much. LOL)

I still play this game all the time to this day. For whatever reason, AOE 2, or 3, just didn't do it for me, and in fact, no other RTS, despite trying literally dozens, has yet captured my heart like this Good Old Game, the Original Age of Empires and it's Expansion, Rise of Rome. Great, great game.

Yecch! No, thank you. The Ubisoft budget release has no redbook audio.
