I bought their 30 God pack at PAX and paid 30 USD for it, the damned game won't even let me log on to without a beta key, I can't redeem the key on the card I bought, and the URL where I'm supposed to be able to get a key just redirects to the game download URL now...

I'm a little frustrated (and a little drunk), with a key I was hoping I could log in and redeem my code. Otherwise I guess I got fucked trying to support Hi-Rez...

Well, I opened a support ticket, but I'm sure no one will be looking until Monday.

Finally, sorry about the greedy spam.

I can get you one after I finish work (it's on my home comp). [In 5 hours]

I hope it gets fixed before then though, obviously if it doesn't then I'll pm you the code.

Thanks man, if I get a beta key as part of my thingie you're welcome to have it to pass on. Nothing but an automated reply, so I suspect Monday at the soonest unless your beta key solves the hangup.
I just wanted to say for anyone's benefit that was put off by this, I did get a beta key from dipsal (who rocks my socks, btw!) and with the key was able to redeem my code in game for the 30 gods.

The same deal I purchased is available on their storefront and presumably they would set your account up directly into the beta if you do that. The reason to buy in now is that you get all 30 launch gods (not all skins but all 30 gods) which should allow you to pick your favorites for each "position" each time (I can only imagine playing as Zeus every time instead of having to swap between him, Ra, and one other in the free champ rotation would be easier before reaching top end play).

As for the game itself, I've played 3 matches, there is no "vs. bots" (though there's some sort of solo training thing) so they drop you right in, thankfully most folks are just as noob as you. If you've played any MOBA you'll get it.

They have some training videos you can watch right in game (they are hosted by Youtube but accessible in game), the first 2 videos, 8 minutes apiece should give you everything you need, hell the first one is enough for your first couple of games.

One thing about SMITE that I like is that before you attain level 6 (your level six, not your god's level in the match), it will autobuy skills and items for you. This makes it easier to get into than other MOBAs.

Finally, don't underestimate how much the 3rd person, over the shoulder view changes the play in a MOBA, I was not prepared...
