It was so awesome. Disguise based stealth puzzle game with punishing trial and error gameplay. So, actually, much like Hitman before that game came out. It was exhilarating and owned up to it's name.

The later game that came to xbox was pretty cool too, though I felt it was trying to be a splinter cell wannabe in areas.

Goldeneye 64 is said to be famous for how well it paralleled the plot while still lengthening and expanding upon it and doing it's own thing. Mission Impossible did this as well, if not better.

Anyone ever play that game?

I've got the NES version, didn't know there was another. Far out.
I've played the first level. It was OK-ish. No Goldeneye though.

Anyone ever play the old Mission Impossible on GBC?
My brain went Commodore 64 and Impossible Mission, which I have played, but didn't figure out how to beat until I recently watched a play through.
Played and liked it, but on the other hand, I thought Quest64 was a good RPG at the time...

I think I recall playing it on the PS1 at one point. Trial and error pretty much sums it up, but not in a good way.

Yeah, me too, I did beat it back in the day though, had to use cheats to do the sequel though, the sequel was weird, it had seeing eye robots and you could use mines to blow the robots up and also blow holes in the platforms...
I read Impossible Mission on the 64.... sad now.
I know the Commodore 64 original for two things (unless I am thinking of some other game):

- Your character's running and jumping animation was smoother than anything seen before in any game. A bit like Prince of Persia (the original 2D platformer) much later.

- And it was the first (well-known?) computer game to have digitized speech and the cry of your character when you died.

EDIT: Fjuck, this discussion wasn't about the Commodore 64 game ("Impossible Mission", not "Mission Impossible") after all? Or was it?

IM2 was better I found.

"Another visitor...stay a while, staaaaaaay FOREVER!!!"

Managed to pick up the PSP remake of the original a while back for the bargain price of €2.
