It's sorta a little-known "Quake clone" from the late 90s that was the first FPS I ever bought with my own money. I was wondering if anyone else had ever heard of it.

I guess I was also wondering if there's any possible way such a little-known game could end up on GoG, especially since the developer (the same one who made Cryostasis:Sleep of Reason) disbanded. I don't know quite how all those legal things work.
Poor man's Quake. Average shooter.

Also I'm not sure who owns the ip rights. My guess would be Atari.

I thought that the claustraphobic gunbattles and incredibly unique enemies gave the game its own style and elevated it beyond a "poor man's Quake"

Well, no one else did, otherwise it would be better known :)
I remember playing the demo a looooong time ago. My memory has faded since then and I don't remember anything except that I played it.
It has in-game cut scenes with plot dumps, a lot of monsters can have their limbs shot off, and the game likes to throw a trap here and there e. g. a guy with a rocket launcher standing at the end of a narrow straight tunnel you enter from the other end. And Chasm's take on rocket damage is same as Half Life's.
It's not bad, but 3D is underused - most levels feel like you could play the same thing in Doom or PC edition of Powerslave.

it's a fun little shooter. Biggest draw was indeed the limbs that could be shot off. It looked dated when it came out and looking dated at that time is saying something. But i think if you would play it now, not knowing what other games came out at the same time you might think it came out right around quake and enjoy it for what it is.
