I've just noticed that Steam is selling BioShock for only £3.49 in the UK but thanks to a certain site (curse you and your devilishly tempting sales GoG!) my Paypal account is almost empty right now.

Anybody feeling generous enough to buy it for me during the sale in exchange for a $5.99 GoG when the funds clear my account in 5-7 (working) days (or just the cash if you'd prefer)?

(Yes, I'm aware of the irony of someone calling themselves 'Matchstickman' asking if anyone is trusting!)

I would but the GBP currency is a bit heavy for my Eastern European currency...

edit: read the currency wrong...

S'all good, thanks for looking in (though if your answer in the movie thread is right I will have to curse at you, I was just about to post the same guess!).
I have found sth which you may find interesting:
[link removed] - not sure if it's safe.
It seems that you can instantly top up your Paypal account with any iBanking account.

Are you sure that's safe? Looks like a phishing site to me. It says that it's PayPal all over the place, but the URL isn't one of PayPal's. It does have a verified certificate, but these days that doesn't mean much.
Yeah.... not liking that site either. Can't find anything about ibanking through the 'regular' pages of paypal.co.uk
It should be ok, but I'm not 99% sure since I have never used it.
I've used https://www.paypal-doladowania.pl/ though.
PM me and consider it sorted.

Thanks but no thanks. There's nothing on the .co.uk pages for ibanking, that's not a term I'm familiar with and not something I want to mess around with for 'just' a £3.49 purchase.

Looks like the answer to my subject line is that even I'm not feeling trusting!

EDIT:Ah ha! And nagytow posted while I was, my faith in humanity is restored, huzzah!

Just for the record, the (now removed) link above should be ok - www.paypal.com link to it themselves, and the whois records check out. However, it seems to be available only in south-east Asia (other, similar sites seems to exist for other parts of the world).

PayPal should've made it easier to verify the authenticity of their (localized) "sister-sites", though - any site with a domain name like "paypal-*.com" immediately makes my paranoia frantically wave a big, red flag..

That's more or less my thought on the matter. It could very well be legitimate, but PayPal is one of the most frequent targets of phishing and I wouldn't trust something with a domain name like that without having a lot more information.

I always get nervous when a website like that has the links all going to a different site.
Just to add that nagytow is worth their weight in gold and this transaction is satisfactorily concluded on my end (the GoG to be gifted as compensation is still awaiting the paypal transfer which will clear in 5-7 days, I'll edit this then just for completeness)
